Saturday July 4th and the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Yeovil and the pigeons were liberated at 12-30 in a south west wind.

In Etwall & District Flying Club10 members sent 143 birds and taking the first two positions was the in form loft of A.Peach & Son.Their winner was a three year old mealy hen doing 1920 followed by a five year old grizzle hen doing 1890.In third position was Peter & Shirley Harrison with a yearling dark hen doing 1845 followed by Mick Leszczyszak in fourth with a yearling cheq cock doing 1768.

In Osmaston Park Homing Society 19 members sent 253 birds with L.D.S. Johnson got the winner with a yearling blue cock taking the red card doing 1895.In second & third was John & Steve Hicks with a four year old dark cock doing 1876.7 followed by a three year old blue cock doing 1876.2.Mick Willis & Family took fourth with a three year old b/w/f cock doing 1835.
In Holbrook 9 members sent 154 birds with Mr & Mrs Ken Salt taking three of the first four positions and taking the red card was a yearling blue hen doing 1881 followed by a two year old cheq cock doing 1798 then a yearling b/w/f cock doing 1780.In second position was D & A Swift with a yearling blue hen doing 1808.
The Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Salisbury and the pigeons were liberated at 13-00 in a south west wind.In Kilburn Club 5 members sent 116 birds with the red card going to Keith Foulke with a two year old slatey cock doing 1692 followed by a two year old blue cock doing 1689.4 in third and a yearling dark hen doing 1684 taking fourth.In second was Keith Cresswell with a yearling blue cock doing 1689.4. 
 
 
Saturday July 11th and both the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation and the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Carentan for the first of their federation special races. First to liberate was the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation who got their pigeons away at 07-15 with a light north west wind given.
In Etwall & District Flying Club 5 members sent 41 birds it was that name again at the top of the result A.Peach & Son taking the first two positions.Both their pigeons were two year old cocks doing 1203 & 1167 with Willy Horton taking third & fourth with two, two year old hens doing 1145 & 1125.

In Holbrook 2 members sent 9 birds with D & A Swift having a podium finish taking the first three positions with a two year old dk/cheq cock taking the red card doing 1197 followed by a yearling blue cock doing 1193 then a two year old red cock doing 1125.In fourth were Mather & Haywood with a yearling red hen doing 1119.
In Osmaston Park Homing Society 14  members sent 104 birds with S & H W Hall taking top spot with a two year old cheq hen doing 1188 followed by a two year old cheq cock doing 1160 taking fourth.In second & third were Glew & O'Donnell with a two year old cheq cock doing 1174 followed by a two year old blue hen doing 1171.

Kilburn club had 6 members sending 38 birds with Parkin & Hall taking the red card with a three year old blue cock doing 1147.In second & third was Ken Foulke with two three year old hens doing 1123 & 1045 followed by Stuart Wainwright in fourth with a yearling blue hen doing 1043.
The Burton & South Derbyshire Federation also held an inland race from Honiton and the pigeons were liberated at 08-35 in a light north west wind.
