Saturday July 4th and the Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Salisbury when 47 members sent 848 birds which were liberated at 13-00 hrs in a south west wind.
Poolsbrook members had an excellent day taking the first ten positions. Congratulations go to Jepson & Bennett & Leech on topping the fed and taking four more positions. Their first three pigeons were all yearlings with a blue hen doing 1749 followed by a blue cock doing 1747.9 then a cheq cock doing 1747.7 then a three year old cheq cock doing 1713 in tenth. M & L Herbert took fourth & sixth positions with a three-year-old blue hen doing 1743.4 and a yearling cheq cock doing 1741.In fifth, seventh eighth & ninth were Tongue & Orme. Their first pigeon was a yearling blue hen doing 1743.2 followed by a six year old dk/pied hen doing 1738.1 then a yearling blue cock doing 1737 and a two year old blue cock doing 1713.
In Poolsbrook it was a podium finish for Jepson, Bennett & Leech taking the first three positions with three yearlings. Their winner was a blue hen doing 1749 ( Fed Topper ).Their next pigeon was a blue cock doing 1747.9 followed by a cheq cock doing 1747.7.Taking fourth with a three year old blue hen doing 1743.4 was M & L Herbert.
In Park N. Jenkinson & Sanderson take three of the first four positions with two yearling hens doing 1707.3 & 1707.2 followed by a two-year-old blue hen doing 1706.5 in fourth. Third position went to Broughtons, Geelan & Goodwin with a two year old ch/pied hen doing 1706.7.
Woodhouse winners were M & A Sherwood doing 1693.5 with P. Rimmington & I Wright in second & third with a three year old red cock and a yearling cheq cock both doing 1693.4 followed by Mr & Mrs J & S Kinsella in fourth doing 1693.3.
In Kilburn Club Keith Foulke takes three of the first four positions with a two-year-old slatey hen taking the red card doing 1692 followed by a two year old blue cock doing 1689.3 in third then a yearling dark hen doing 1684 taking fourth. In second with a yearling blue cock doing 1689.5 was Keith Cresswell.
Storey Arms winner was Mr & Mrs M Talbot with a five-year-old blue hen doing 1675 with Abd Spiby in second doing 1665 with a five year old pied cock. In third was C. Bradford with a yearling blue cock doing 1640 followed by K.J.Walker in fourth with a two year old cheq hen doing 1623.
It was a clean sweep for P & A Wilcox in Swallownest taking the first four positions. Taking the red card was a two year old cheq cock doing 1544 followed by a three year old blue cock doing 1455 then a three year old dark cock doing 1356 with a three year old blue cock doing 1217 in fourth.
Saturday July 11th and it was their federation special race from Carentan with 193 birds entered and the pigeons being liberated at 08-45 in a light north east wind. The first four positions went to Poolsbrook members with congratulations going to S. Tongue & Orme on taking the first two positions. Their winner was doing 1275 with their next pigeon doing 1270. In third was M & L Herbert doing 1267 followed by Jepson, Bennett & Leech in fourth doing 1223.Woodhouse members took the next six positions with Mr & Mrs A. Jackson in fifth, sixth, seventh, ninth & tenth doing 1213,1210,1209,1202 & 1201 with T. Bussy in eighth doing 1203.
Saturday July 18th and this week the fed were at Salisbury with 49 members sending 833 birds which were liberated at 07-50. Woodhouse members dominated the fed result taking seventeen of the first twenty positions. Congratulation’s to M & A Sherwood on topping the fed doing 1614 this loft also took seventh & ninth doing 1607 & 1604.In second & eighth was B & C Brelsford doing 1613 & 1606..In third was M & L Herbert ( Poolsbrook ) with a yearling blue hen doing 1611 with D. Trow (Swallownest) in fourth doing with a yearling blue cock doing 1608.8.P.Rimmington & I. Wright took fifth, sixth & tenth doing 1608.7,1608.1 & 1604.2.
In Woodhouse M & A Sherwood came out on top doing 1614 and topping the fed (Well done). Second position went to B & C Brelsford & Son doing 1613 with P. Rimmington & I. Wright in third & fourth doing 1608.7 & 1608.1.

In Swallownest it was a two-loft race with D. Trow taking the top two positions with two yearling blue cocks doing 1608 & 1603.In third & fourth were E. Pearson with two, two year old cocks doing 1598 & 1586.
In Park Broughtons, Geelan & Goodwin took three of the first four positions with two yearling blue hens doing 1596 & 1595 with their next pigeon doing 1591 taking fourth. In third was T & H Garner & Morton doing 1593.
In Kilburn Club K.Foulke made it a podium finish taking the first three positions with two yearling dark cocks doing 1571 & 1568 with a two year old blue cock in third doing 1531.In fourth was Keith Cresswell with a two year old blue cock doing 1520.
Abd Spiby makes it a podium finish in Storey Arms with a yearling blue cock doing 1527 taking the red card followed by a yearling cheq cock doing 1525 then a two year old blue hen doing 1520.In fourth was Mr & Mrs Talbott with a four old cheq hen doing 1478.
