Sunday July 26th and the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation were at Fougeres for their final old bird race which was a federation special race.The pigeons were liberated at 08-20 in a light west wind.
In Holbrook 3 members sent 18 birds with Mather & Haywood getting the winner with a red hen doing 1424 and taking the next three positions was Trevor Jennings with a cheq cock & a blue hen both doing 1379 with a grizzle doing 1347 in fourth.

In Etwall & District Flying Club 5 members sent 59 birds and getting the red card was Peter & Shirley Harrison with a yearling blue cock doing 1421 followed by a yearling cheq hen doing 1340 to take third.In second was A.Peach & Son with a two year old cheq cock doing 1351 with Willy Horton taking fourth with a two year old cheq hen doing 1339.
In Osmaston Park Homing Society 13 members sent 108 birds with L.D.S. Johnson getting the winner doing 1412 followed by Paul & Lynda Todd in second & third doing 1410 & 1403.In fourth doing 1362 was Glew & O'Donnell.
It was also the first young bird race for the Burton & South Derbyshire Federation who were at Tewksbury and the pigeons were liberated at 09-20 in a west south west wind.
In Holbrook 3 members sent 98 birds with Kevin Mathews making it a clean sweep taking the first four positions.Taking the red card was a b/w/f hen doing 1856 then two dark cocks doing 1855.7 & 1855.6 followed by a b/ied hen doing 1855.2.

In Etwall & District Flying Club 5 members sent 110 birds and taking the first two positions after returning to the sport after break was the clubs new member Kevin Southall.His winner was a b/pied hen doing 1823 followed by a cheq cock doing 1790.In third & fourth was Sam Phillips with two hens doing

In Osmaston Park Homing Society 10 members sent 201 birds and making it a podium finish was another member returning to the sport after a short break Tom Chadwick.Toms pigeons were all hens doing 1816.4,1816.0 & 1815. Toms first two pigeons were from the loft of club mates Mick Willis & Family. In fourth were the consistent partnership of Paul & Lynda Todd doing 1810.
The Derby Burton & District South Road Federation were at Fougeres for their federation special race and the pigeons were liberated at 07-30 in a west wind.In Kilburn club 2 members sent 29 birds with Keith Foulke making it a clean sweep His first two pigeons were both four year old hens doing 1363 & 1344 followed by a three year old slatey hen doing 1334 then a two year old red cock doing 1324.
