Spotting a Form Bird

SPOTTING A FORM BIRD

by Jim Emerton

This is relatively easy to do if you you have the brain for it - your brain is the nucleus of all you do! On a sensory level it boils down to perceptual and intense study of each individual bird. Outwardly look for obvious changes in behavioural dominance of cocks that sparkle and shine with fired up eyes - they glow with vitality and health, and so should you when you see them. It is a two way process then, and a form bird will give you a buzz! I like quality hens that sleep in the basket. On externals, balance your decision on the previous results of the candidates - single bird nomination will test your mental powers and clever management of your birds. The process then is a challenge to your sensitivity and gifts as a human. The key is to sensitise your brain in relation to conditioning of quality birds. I relax now and let my racing partner do it. For Barcelona International we have 3 particular birds in mind - all will be revealed.
