THE PIGEONS ARE WHAT YOU MAKE THEM!
Give yourself credit as you manage, condition, create the family and enter the birds in the race. True racing pigeons do not exist without man, the fancier. My birds are plodders people say, and often the reason is down to the methods and systems they are managed on. Always assess the fancier who breeds, races the birds and writes the pedigree. Racing is a human activity and always will be. Take a look in the mirror, analyse, criticise, and aim for self-improvements over many years. The top man is an obsessive perfectionist with an eye for meticulous detail. A good man creates and races good birds-they are an outward manifestation of his personality. Get the mindset, desire, dedication and practical knowledge organised then you will do well. This type of practice and thought applies to any activity, sport or interest in the world of humanity. TRUTH AND FREEDOM.
In my books, articles and other literature, I write what is true to myself. How people react to and interpret the work is individual to them as the whole communication process is subjective. I create all my work freely, with no charges for pigeons, dealing, advice and mentoring. Monies as royalties I gave away on principle. The whole idea is freedom and escape from the fetters of the money God, capitalism and materialism. However, publicity generates readership and sales of the books, so that there is a larger audience for my efforts, which is based on enthusiasm for the subject matter. Not having a conscious eye on money and commerce, means that I can take a purist approach to creativity, knowledge and objectivity in a unique and individual way. In essence my writings are the fruit of enjoyment.

MY ROMANY EXPERIENCES.
The pure Romany life is a rarity that I have enjoyed, with some great characters that became famous for who they were. Some of my teens were in the company of Kenzie The Wild Goose Man. Living on his houseboat on the Wash saltings, I was influenced by the rarity and rugged individuality of his presence as we studied seals, waders, wildfowl and shot wild pigeons, ducks and geese in the wilds of the estuary and fields. Old Kenzie is an iconic name in poaching, wildfowling and country folklore and features in my books. My experiences with the great man were character forming, on a wild and primal level, enjoyed in hard weather, alone in the wilderness. I lived out the boys adventure dream in stark contrast to academic training. Moving to Holtby village I met up with Sir Montague/Cocker Smith, as he led his bowtop caravan, pulled by a piebald horse along the lanes. We sat as feral people round the campfire, smoking condor twist and exchanging nature stories in the raw elements of wind and rain. We gave the family butter, bread and cheese and some racing pigeons. Both rare and rustic men have been the subjects of films, books and other literature. Now they enrich the history and traditions of rural life, as their lives were blessed by intense, and peculiar individuality.

ORGANISATION AND SELF DISCIPLINE.
A special and enduring enthusiasm in your interests is nurtured by self-control and discipline, with focus on targets and objectives. Given time, a person can realise potential with this approach. Mindfulness is used to execute plans into practical reality, and results for your efforts. I feel many drift through life with no real identity, fame or success. Naturally, you need talent, desire and the ideas in the first place. Given a little creative eccentricity, then a soaring career with some contentment may be actualised. The essence is to feel it existentially in the inner psyche, which may lead to some spirituality.

THE LONELINESS OF THE LONG DISTANCE MAN.
It is not the time to be in the pub. A lone vigil watching the sun go down is the order of the day. Waiting for marathon birds will sharpen your senses, hone the mind and keep you alert for days. You may see the bats come out and the moon in the twilight. It is a time for mystery suffused by mysticism, as the crows go to roost, and your imagination soars. Your mind is alive with the electricity of hopes and dreams. The ultimate buzz is the arrival of your favoured bird out of the peerless Barcelona International race, where reputations are born and champions bred. The entire subjective experience is both lonely and beautiful.

LOOK, LISTEN, LEARN.
Who you will be and what you will become and do, is down to you. A sustained, active interest in all aspects of the game is a great teacher, where the goal is to have original and specialist knowledge of the game. All you need to be aware of is out in the big wide world of nature, things and people, or as personal insights. Wise to practice what you dream to take things a step beyond the imagination-I like the touch of tangible reality. Aim for the top, consult the experts, and be singular in your focus until all objectives are realised to your satisfaction.
