Obituary
Ian Crammond of West Preston; West Sussex: it is with a very heavy heart that I write this obituary on someone whom I call a dear friend. Ian had not been well of late and passed away on Christmas day (God only takes very special people on the birthday of his son and believe me Ian was someone very special) He was a proper gentleman and one of the finest men you could wish to meet. I first made contact with him through our mutual friend John Tyerman the president of the BICC. We met up on various occasions over the years, but the highlight was when Kevin and I visited the Crammond & Langstaff lofts at Fontwell at the beginning of 2017. Nigel showed us around and we handled some outstanding quality pigeons and it was to be honest an experience we will never forget. In the evening we attended church and then made our way to Ians home and we spent the next 4 hours enthralled in conversation about pigeons and some history on Ian for an article I was going to do on the partnership. This was a very special time for Kevin and I and we thoroughly enjoyed listening to Ian (and Nigel) and it is a time we will never FORGET. Ians funeral will be at 12 midday, on Friday 12th January 2018, at St Andrews Church, Coastguard Lane, Fairlight, East Sussex. We are sorry that we could not attend but Ian and his family will be in our thoughts and prayer at this time. To Ians daughters; his sons and their families; also to Eileen and Nigel Langstaff we send out heartfelt condolences at the passing of a wonderful man.
Rest in peace my old friend.
