Lanarkshire Federation
Ripon is a cathedral city in the Borough of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is located at the confluence of two tributaries of the River Ure, the Laver and Skell. The city is noted for its main feature, Ripon Cathedral which is architecturally significant, as well as the Ripon race course and other features such as its market. The city itself is just over 1,300 years old.
Ripon is around 154 miles back into Central Scotland. The birds were away in lovely warm sunshine at 10:45 am. The winning pigeons made light work of the conditions making well up in the 1400s.
This week’s winners taking 1st ,2nd ,3rd Open Federation 4,800 birds is the brilliant GWP Macaloney of Airdrie. Their level of consistency in this level of competition is remarkable and only cements why they are Lanarkshire’s all time champion loft. It doesn't appear Lanarkshire they are slowing down any time soon! Well done George, Wullie and Paul.
This week’s winner is a blue hen of Tam Blair Ceuster lines x dream pair/merlin lines. Its nest mate also won 1st Open federation 4,393 birds.
