The change of the year brings its own rewards. One being the Blackpool show, something that we always look forward to attending. As always its always a great advert for our pigeon hobby. They come from near and far to meet up with old and new friends. That is around thirty odd years I have attended with family and friends.
The weather this year was particularly wintry and possible stopped some from travelling but with a close eye on the weather forecast, there were windows of opportunity for Lanarkshire fanciers to travel.
The British Homing Union committee should be proud for another great weekend for the fanciers. The only small negative is the Sunday finishing time is getting shorter each year, I was refused re-entry at 13 30hrs and that was after being told by security staff at door it was 1400hrs.
Not to sure if the committee are aware of this but if so then it isn't value for money, when years gone by it was 1600hrs.
Anyway, it was still a great weekend!
I have a number of photos from the weekend and quiz nights to share. Jim Hannah also provided me with some members pigeons photographed over the months.
