SOLWAY NEWS
By Jimmy Graham
Anglo-Scottish Flying Club
The Club sent 812 birds to Ingleton on Sunday 20th July. Liberated at 12.20pm into a fresh North-West wind.
This race turned out to be one of the biggest disasters ever. Very few birds made it on the day and not many more since!
Some lofts never had a single time in and there were no more than fifty birds on the day.
Velocities started at 888 and the 27th bird timed was doing 470.
The belief is most of the birds are down in the Kendal area and we would appreciate any Solway (S) birds that could be gathered up around that area by any local fanciers and we could come down and collect them.
Okay then let’s continue with the race and the results.
