This week was our longest Young Bird race from Battle racing the shortest Hull 200mls to the longest Whitby 255mls. The birds were liberated on the 1st of September in a South East turning Variable wind. Topping the Combine and the Central Section is Alan Stone & Son of Hull on 1754. Topping the South Section is Kerry Mellonby of Bridlington on 1743. Topping the North Section is Paul Abbott & Son of Whitby on 1732. Topping the West Section is Mick Burdett of Norton on 1650. Well done everyone having such a great race and such excellent returns.

Central Section:

 

Hull Millennium Club. 8 members sent 55 birds with the red card for the 12th time this season going to Alan Stone & Son on 1754 with a self bred Hereman Ceuster off Gary & Kate Cox stock. Second place went to K & H Green on 1745 with one of his Ark birds that has took prizes before. Third place went to Alan Stone & Son on 1711 with one from Paul Fisher of Blackpool. Fourth place went to John & Jackie Hall on 1681 with one that has scored before.

Cottingham Homing Society. members sent 48 birds with the red card going to Kev Kingston & Family on 1722 with a Wayne Brownley bird. Second place went to George Smith on 1684 with a Rene Nauwelaert. Third place went to Kev Kingston & Family on 1669 with a gift bird off Dave Robinson. Fourth place went to Kev Kingston on 1666 with a self bred Jan Aarden cross.

Hull Chalk Lane Club. 8 members sent 85 birds with the red card going to Dave Thompson on 1746 with a Malderhart hen having now had a 1st 2nd & 5th. Second place went to Dave Thompson on 1743 with a Mathews hen. Third place went to Dave Thompson again on 1689 with a Malderhart hen. Fourth place went to George Rudd on 1681 with a Janssen.

Driffield Homing Society. 6 members sent 26 birds with the red card going to Pete Dixon on 1741 with a T & P Douthwaite hen. Second place went to J. W. Hubbard & Son on 1604 with a Gust Janssen x Janssen which was 2nd at Chelmsford and first last week from Huntingdon. Third and Fourth places went to Pete Dixon again on 1531 and 1507 with grandchildren off the late Ray Bell stock the first one won the first Huntingdon race. Once again Arthur Welford sponsored the race which Pete won and  J. W. Hubbard & Son winning the Hagston meat nom.

Kingston Flying Club. Foster & Bennett sent 11 bird on 1685, 1645 & 1644 no details.

Walton Priory Club. members sent 10 birds with the red card going to M. Foster on 1651 with a Tony Jeno bred Janssen which was 3rd last week. Second and Third places went to D. Rasul on 1513 and 1511 with a pair of Dave Hobson of Beedale bred pigeons. Fourth place went to P. Rhodes on 1482 with a Martindale Van Rijn.

Wawne Ferry Club. 2 members sent 6 birds with Anderson & Anderson on 1692  1526, 1508 and 1480 the first two are Flor Engels third is bred by Paul Jacobs the next is a Busschaert.

 

 

Coastal South Section:

 

Withernsea Homing Society. 6 members sent 107 birds with the red card going to Dave Beadle on 1736 with a Herman Ceuster. Second place went to Dave Beadle on 1724 with a Sablon x Herman Ceuster. Third place went to Dave Beadle on 1724 with a Hereman Ceuster x Danny Van Dyke. Fourth place went to Tony Meek on 1723 with a Steve Turley pigeon. Tony won the K. O.

Hornsea & D. H. Society. 5 members sent 55 birds with the first four places all going to Phil & June Edmonds on 1704, 1700, 1696 and 1680 with his family of birds.

Flamborough Homing Society. 8 members sent 94 birds with the red card going to Gray & Atkin on 1743 with their family of birds. Second Third and Fourth places went to Kerry Mellonby & Stuart Knowles on 1743, 1742 and 1731 with their Stuart Knowles birds.

Bridlington D.F.C. 4 members sent 16 birds with the red card and Second place going to Kerry Mellonby & Stuart Knowles on 1743 and 1743 with their Stuart Knowles Vandenabeeles. Third and Fourth places went to Harry Smith on 1721 & 1721 all with his old family of birds

 

Coastal North Section:

 

Scarborough Social Club. 5 members sent 64 birds with the red card going to Keith Todd on 1707 with a Van Reet which has now had 2 x 1st 2 x 2nds. Second Third and Fourth places went to Pete & Pat Chapman on 1696 1695 and 1694 with his family of Pobor pigeons.

Whitby Premier Club. 4 members sent 98 birds with the red card and Second places going to Paul Abbott & son Darren on 1735 & 1732 with a pair of self bred Van den Bulk cock off his good friend Eddy of Leeds. Third place went to S. Mallinson & Son on 1725 with a self bred from Willy Verberck x Louis Thijs hen.  Fourth place went to S. Mallinson & Son on 1725 with a hen of his good friend Paul Roziers which has had a 1st and 2nd Huntingdon and wins pools

 

West Section

Norton I. Flying Club. 6 members sent 68 birds with the red card and Second place going to Mick Burdett on 1650 & 1650 with self breds out of stock. Third place went to Howard Jackson on 1643 with a Lambrecht cross. Fourth place went to Alan Gill on 1641 with a Geerinkx x Anthony Moore of Guisborough also winning the pools £11
