THE EGOCENTRICITY OF POLITICS.
Many leading people on the political stage are actors under the umbrella of a political party and ideology. The rise and drive of the egocentric, careerist, power driven individual is transparent behind the mask of a written or spoken rationale. Suffice to say , I do not conform intellectually to any group or party, as I would feel subordinated, brain washed and subjugated to some quasi collective mode of consciousness. The power play and games is easy to spot if you are a psychologist with a perceptive, intuitive eye. However, I will listen to, perhaps agree with and analyse and interpret the truth. Jim Emerton.

THE INNER LIFE OF A POET
Certain creative, gifted and sensitive people can use the subconscious, unconscious and deepest layers of the psyche to create original and novel imagery. Good poetry represents the inner truth of the individual, expressed in harmonious and beautiful forms. The poem can be created from the self in mindful and intense concentration. A good piece is felt as euphoria and most satisfying. I find that day to day shallow chit chit with people, may trigger the deeper layers of the brain/mind synthesis. The cerebral life may feel free, ethereal ,with the only limit being the depth and scope of your gift. With 8 books under my belt, I go for the literary buzz every day! Jim Emerton.

MEASURED AND REAL FLYING DISTANCE FROM BARCELONA INTERNATIONAL.
We can speculate and imagine how far birds have flown to reach their lofts in the UK. Without accurate measurement of the actual flight of the bird in the race where there may have been a dogleg, I go on the official distance given to calculate the velocity of the performance in the race. Mine to Holtby in Yorks was 879 miles approx., Nick Harvey and myself 710 miles approx. into the West of England. Birds in the clock may put in many more miles coming into the precise geographical locations of their lofts-the exact distance remains an unknown. It all adds to the wonder and mystery of the race, in that all our birds must tackle Barcelona until we retire them, if that is possible. You can be sure that it is always a good bird that gets in the clock. Jim Emerton Barcelona Specialist.

HONESTY,TRUTH,INTEGRITY.
These traits are becoming rare in man and society. As a person who knows every trick in the book, I seek it in my writing and within individuals. Cast a sceptical eye over organisations, groups and individuals where sales and money are the primary motivations. It is enough to generate deep cynicism ,and shed doubts on the very nature of society. As a survival tool, I filter all I read and hear in the media at large, since your mind is not your own if it is the result of brain washing and external suggestion by dominant, human forces. Personal identity and free individuality are at the core of personality, with collective consciousness the hallmark of convention. Jim Emerton.

BUILDING A BARCELONA STRAIN?
Source stock birds full of 7 to 900 mile birds from a top man, breed from them and race the progeny out to Barcelona. Build a racing system around the racepoint objective, send each year ,and then breed out of birds in the clock. Yes the truth and logic of this method is simple to see. The difficulty lies in the practical execution of the task, the year in year out focus and dedication needed. A modern personification of this desire and drive is Nicholas Harvey who aims to perfect this central philosophy. Jim Emerton.

THE INVISIBLE MAN.
Many people conceal their true, inner and instinctual nature behind a role they play in society and a mask. I like to probe with my intuitive and perceptive I to discern the true traits and personal identity of who they really are. The writer, the psychiatrist, the psychologist all aim for rewards in this direction. Often a social extrovert, is in reality an introvert. I t strikes me that the way to some semblance of sanity is to be true to your inner man, assuming that like me, you have discovered what it is. ! Jim Emerton.
