What glorious weather we are having at the moment, Saturday 10th June saw us experience the hottest race we have had so far, and it showed with some bad returns but many of the birds made their way back in Sunday. I was 5 short on the day but ended up only losing the 1.

The Warwickshire Federation were at Wetherby (4128) race flown on 10 June 2023 54 members sent 709 birds Liberated at 09:00 hours in a Moderate east-northeast wind.

Syston FC – congratulations to my good friend and training partner David cooper on taking the 1st and 3rd  his 1st pigeon was a 2yr old blue cock Bred by R Elton doing 1795 his pigeon in 3rd place the dam was from R Elton the Sire was bred through Jos Thorne Sumo lines doing 1778 in 2nd place was G cooper with a 2-year-old SVR cock all 3 of these birds flown on widowhood.

Southam & District IFC – Keith Arnold takes 1st and 2nd place on 1796 & 1693 his first arrival was a 3yr old blue SVR widowhood cock which was 18th fed the previous week his second was a yearling hen SVR only having her second race due to no young birds being raced last year she was raced celibate Pete Bicknell takes 3rd club with a yearling blue cock flown natural doing 1540 he was bred from stock from Derek Smith from Dawley.

Church Road FC -  Rob Glover takes the win doing 1771 with a 4yr old hen flown on roundabout she is ½ sister to Robs 8th open MNFC Bordeaux sire is a sablon who won 4x1st dam is hardy Kruger this hen is always in the first few in the clock and is her 5th race turned on the north road 2nd place is Gary Smith with a 2yr old blue hen doing 1703 3rd goes to Dave Woods with a yearling blue hen vel 1635.

Trent Valley House HS – 1st and 2nd place go to John Gilbert both birds recording the same velocity 1775 1st was a yearling blue hen and 2nd a 2yr old cock both john’s old faithful Gaby Vandenabeele blood kept him in the mix for many years now in 3rd place was Wilson & Malin with a 4yr old hen doing 1668.

Dunchurch RPC – Sees Tim Atkin take the first 3 spots having 7 birds drop together his first was a cheq hen from a son of chucky and Nike Rik Hermans national winners doing 1787 2nd bird was a BWF hen a daughter of Vardy son of foxy lady when paired to a daughter of Rik Hermans friendship hen doing 1786 3rd place a blue hen daughter of vetcher old Danny van dyke blood Tims old original lines.

Ashby & District FC – in first place was G Chaplin & Sons doing 1747 2nd was T P Wainwright at 1728 and 3rd again G Chaplin & Sons with a velocity of 1718.

Nuneaton progressive RPC -  All 3 places go to MR & MRS M Perkins the first bird a yearling doing 1742 Gert Heylen Simon Snook x Adam Weathall snowball x King x Rosie Ian Wheatley blood 2nd birds another yearling doing 1723 De Meyer Simon Snook x Jonny Heylen Ian Wheatley blood 3rd place another yearling doing 1722 Simon Snook Impact cock x Jos Laurey x Simon Snook Juliet De Meyer x Stuart Innit Lambrecht Ian Wheatley blood.

Shipston on Stour IFC -  1st place is N Hunt with the same yearling cheq pied hen that was 3rd last week from Frank Tasker birds flown natural doing 1426 2nd & 3rd go to Gavin Duggan with a blue yearling hen out of treetops hen and national beauty cock doing 1388 and 1277.

Adderbury FC – 1st & 2nd go to Richard McNally 1st bird doing 1724 a blue cock flown widowhood M&D Evans blood 2nd doing 1701 again a blue cock on widowhood M&D Evans blood in 3rd place John Hambridge clocking a blue cock of his own strain flying widowhood 1643.

Appleby Magna HS -  All 3 places go to L Rowland & Partner 1st place a 2yr old doing 1491 2nd place a 2yr old doing 1296 and in 3rd a 5yr old doing 977.

East Leake FC – Taking the top 5 spots in the club and the fed what a season for Paul Crooks so far, his first bird a 2yr old doing 1814 is a full brother to Paul’s NRCC Dunbar winner and 2nd open Perth 2nd bird a 4yr old doing 1813 is from Premier stud Man O Chester lines and in 3rd place a yearling doing 1811 is Trevor Taylor of G t Ayton 25 cock lines All Hereman Ceuster lines.
