BURTON & SOUTH DERBYSHIRE FEDERATION.

BURTON & SOUTH DERBYSHIRE FEDERATION.

Hill Ridware lofts have a field day out of Frome, as Mark Nesbitt dominates.

Saturday June 29th saw 70 members enter 1087 birds for the second visit to the Somerset town of Frome. It was another lovely morning, and Alys cut the strings at 09-10 in a very Light W.S.W. wind. With hardly a breath of wind there was nothing to challenge the Rugeley lofts, and they didn’t disappoint taking the top twenty in the fed.

Congratulations to  Mark Nesbitt on taking 1st; 2nd; 3rd ;4th; 5th; 7th; 8th; and 10th fed. The fed topper on 1678.9 was a yearling cheq hen; she’s a sister to “04” who has won a 1st and 2nd fed this year, their sire is a son of Adam Wealthall’s “Snowball” the prolific Lambrecht.

In total Mark had ten birds in the top twelve of the result.

Stopping Nezzy taking the fed top ten positions was Anthony Probert, Anthony had a great old bird season in 2022 mainly with the Premier Stud and Shane Reading Heremans, but then went off the radar; but he’s made a comeback in the last two races, and is back amongst the leaders. Anthony takes 6th and 9th fed on 1671; 1663; his first a 4yo Hereman cock bred out of a son of “Houdini” when paired to a daughter of “Better than Bolt”, this cock has also bred a fed topper for Anthony.
