CORK FEDERATION
by Neil Crean
Castleblaney
The Cork Federation got off to a great start with their first race from Castleblaney in County Monaghan. Race controllers Thomas Murphy and Gerard O Sullivan gave the order to release at 7.30am. The convoy left heading south to start their 170 mile journey home to Cork. First past the post was a light cheq widowhood cock owned by Gerard Fahy of Cork Southern RPC. The breeding is Lambrecht crossed with Dave Mawhinney and he has been a consistent racer for Ger with this win topping it off. Taking the next four positions was the ever consistent loft of Billy Wallace & Son timing four widowhood cocks. Billy looks forward to these races and his results prove it on a weekly basis. His new apprentice Ben is now there to assist Billy and learn from one of the best widowhood fliers in the south of Ireland.
