A tribute to Kevin Papazian of Cork Southern RPC.

The 19th of January was a sad day for the family and friends of Kevin (Pappy) who sadly passed away after a short illness. Kevin was a fantastic administrator and fancier who was well recognised all over the country and within the very wide pigeon fraternity. A plumber by trade Kevin started competitive pigeon racing in the late 90s and was assisted in his startup by local pigeon fancier Jim Cummins. Jim gifted Kevin Stock birds to breed his first youngsters and he steered him in the right direction on how to look after them.

Kevin joined the Cork Southern Pigeon Club where he became Club secretary for many years.  Soon after joining his results were credited by numerous wins up to and including Scotland where the classic races were flown from.

His Federation win from Stirling will always be among the best performances he achieved and this says a lot as Kevin featured regularly on the Federation results even in 2020 his results from the federation races were unbelievable especially with him winning 1st Club 1st section and second open from Coleraine timing 6 birds in the result.

Kevin's passing is a huge loss for the pigeon sport he was taken at such a young age Kevin will be sadly missed by his large circle of friends within the club and federation. He was a perfect role model for any young fanciers.

We would like to give our sincere condolences to Una, Roxanne and Cian for their loss. Neil Crean on behalf of the Cork Federation & Cork Southern.
