WEST WAS BEST FROM TULLAMORE
Saturday April 16th saw the East Down Birds in Tullamore (Co. Offaly) for the second race of the season and with a fresh Southerly breeze this was always going to be a fast event as indeed it proved to be with the leading velocities over 1800 ypm and this week it was the West side of the Combine which dominated with members of Belmont ,Dundonald, Ballylesson and Newtownbreda having the leading birds with pride of place to Belmont’s Albert Gregg followed by Newtownbreda’s Mark McClure with Belmont members having the next three places and Dundonald’s Roy Irwin completing the provisional top six in the open .
The Bangor club dominated the East section through Burgess & Brennan , R Moore & Son and Lambert & Stewart .

Once again I end on a sad note with the news of the sudden death of Anne the wife of Dundonald fancier Jim Young and I extend my deepest sympathy to Jim and the Family at this time on their very sad loss.
