EDC 2 Bird Club prize distribution & dinner

The East Down Combine 2bird held their dinner and Prize distribution on Friday the 27th January 2017 in what for the club was a new venue for them the Temple Golf & Country Club.

The evening started with a beautiful meal , the choice being either Roast Beef or Stuffed Chicken & Ham after which the club’s Chairman Francis Gilmore introduced the evening and thanked those involved with the successful running of the club and especially thanked the club’s sponsors Robert & June Kirkwood , H Beattie & son , Wesley Sawyers and Telford Bros . He had a special word of thanks for Secretary Dorothy Smyth for organising the evening and for all the work she put into what is a most successful club. Francis then called on the club President Clifford Browne to present the prizes after which the rest of the evening was spent catching up and chatting with old friends and the evening also included an auction of 2017 young Birds and a ballot was also run .It was a most enjoyable & relaxing evening and the club extends a big thank you to Gerard, the Temple Golf Club manager , and also to their chef John for making everyone feel so welcome and for providing such an excellent meal .

Edith Muckle

I regret to report of the Death of Edith Muckle who had raced in the Millisle & District HPS in partnership with her son Adam for over 30 years and extend sincere condolences to husband David,
