BALLYLESSON & KILLYLEAGH CENTRAL DINNERS

Both the Ballylesson and Killyleagh Central clubs held their Dinners and Prize Distributions recently. The Ballylesson’s night was on Friday the 25th October and once again this year the venue was the Temple Golf Club .The evening commenced with club chairman Paul Johnston welcoming everyone especially the two chief guests for the evening Presidents Mervyn Patterson and Alan McWilliams . Members and friends then enjoyed a beautiful meal after which the club Secretary John Albert called upon the two Presidents to present the prizes won during the year to the winners .

Heading the list was John Patterson who was unable to be in attendance on the night .2nd highest were the partnership of Cousins, McConaghie & Albert with C & D Smyth in 3rd place . Others winning prizes were J Kirk & Sons , H Ballantyne & Son ,P & C Johnston , K & B McConaghie & Son , Gillespie Bros , Mackey & Lockhart & Stephen Dempsey . Once again this very competitive club had enjoyed a great year at Combine Level with no less than 5 x 1st Open wins with C & D Smyth & sons having had a superb season winning three of these including the Talbenny YB Derby . With John Patterson & John Kirk & sons having 1xOpen each .

After the presentation of the Trophies and prizes the rest of the evening was spent dancing to Country music by Stephen Becket . The club extends their thanks to all the staff at the Temple Golf Club for helping to make it a very enjoyable evening .

Killyleagh Central also had their prize night when their chief guest was Alan Telford and Paddy McComb has sent some photos from the evening and again this club had a very enjoyable evening .

Finally, for this week staying with Killyleagh , local fancier Frank Cheevers is having to cut back and is reducing his stock on the 9th of November at Newtownbreda ,so if you need a bird or two this is a good chance and a quick call to Dorothy Smyth will get you further details .
