McComb Bros enjoy a super Saturday
For the 3rd race of the season the EDC were in Thurles and the convoy of over 5,000 birds were released at 11.15am into a light Northerly wind which was fresher along the East Coast and my thanks to the lofts winning the open for the photos they have been sending each week .
Leading Combine bird this week was to McComb Bros of Killyleagh Central on 1325 ypm and what a great days racing this partnership enjoyed for in addition to winning the club and Combine they were 2nd 3rd 4th 10th 12th club, 3rd 8th 29th open in the EDC 1st 3rd 7th East Section EDC and in addition in the NIPA they were 1st 2nd 3rd 6th 7th 10th club 168th 172nd 183rd open 2nd 3rd 4th 14th 15th 18th 38th section F Roscrea. The pigeon winning the EDC is of the Greg Bros and McCandless lines that they have. Whilst the birds in section F are of the Adair/Croskery lines and all the birds were racing Roundabout.
Crossgar’s Sidney McLoughlin was 2nd open with a second bird in at 11th open and won 1st and 2nd Club, 2nd and 10th East Section .
The West section was won by the Ballylesson partnership of Gillespie Bros with Crossgar’s Joe McGreevy in 2nd place. Looking down the result the Open winners of the first two weeks are in fine form featuring well up the open result again this week. The top open and section places were:
