TERENCE ADAIR
Members of the East Down Combine were saddened to learn of the death of another of their members, Terence Adair of Cloughey, husband of Peninsula Amalgamation Secretary Olive Adair who raced in partnership as Mr and Mrs T Adair in the Cloughey club. Terence had not enjoyed the best of health for quite some time and on behalf of Combine members I extend condolences to Olive and family and the wider family circle on their sad loss. Olive has decided to part with all the birds, her main concern being that they go to good homes and many of these contain the bloodlines of birds from the Adairs friend and fellow club mate Seamus Killen and are the old Walkingshaw and Kenyon bloodlines which are noted for their performances from the longer races. The birds will for sale on Friday February 8th in the Newtownards clubrooms in John Street Lane at 8pm and on view from 7pm.
The 8th of February is also the date for the East Down 2 Bird Dinner and Prize Distribution in Magees of Crossgar and I believe that the support for this has been excellent; full report will follow. Let's hope that support for the AGM of the club will be just as good. This meeting will be held in the Crossgar clubrooms on Monday 18th of February at 8pm and a good attendance of members would be encouraging.
