East Down Combine News

The East Down Combine birds were back in Navan for the second race of the season and whilst still hot it was not quite as hot as the previous week and there was a NE wind blowing which resulted in a slower race than the 1st Navan . Release was at 9.45 am and with the East in the wind the Open winner was to the Belmont loft of W & R Evans & Leahy on a velocity of 1368.  In 2nd place were the Ballylesson partnership of C & D Smyth & sons and then it was back to Belmont for 3rd open to Albert Gregg and if the Belmont PO could forward me photos of some of their members I would be very grateful . Back to Ballylesson for 4th open to Mackey & Lockhart and these were the top four in the West Section the next 3 birds were to the East section and the Cloughey club with last week’s Open winners Harper & Young 5th open and C & H Cully 6th and 7th Open.
