The Welsh North Road Federation

The Welsh North Road federation held its third young bird race of the 2021 season for its third visit to the Ludlow race course in a row before moving on up north onto some distance giving the young birds some good educational confidence starter races.  So on the 8/8/21 at 14:00pm the head convoyer Mr Humphries liberated the federation birds into south west wind.

The top ten positions in the federation were as follows and it was two Welsh Wizards in control of the top ten working their magic one being Anthony Buttigieg who is no stranger to the winning seat for a number of years now and starting off with some very impressive north road performances in his career before flying and changing to the popular east to west route but it’s certainly nice to be back home in the north road lane Anthony says after successful flying carers on both routes and the next candidate in the shakeup is of Chris McCarthy which this is his first season in racing pigeons and he’s as keen as can be with working shifts with Cardiff city council and any spare time he puts into his birds and he’s no mug as he’s done his homework in obtaining some quality tools to start off with to get the job done right the first time.  He’s certainly one to look out for hopefully for the future to the result now.


First & Second Federation

Taking top spot plus 2nd & 3rd federation was Anthony Buttigieg & Son flying 57 miles all three birds were directly bred by Derek Nicholls of the Premier Stud and all three being Herman Cuesters the first is bred from a son of National golden girl and a daughter of Supersonic Mike the second being a double grandson of the Man ‘O’ Chester and the third bird being bred from iron Mike which is the best racing performance bird bred out of Supersonic Mike his Mother is a Direct Daughter out of Man ‘O’ Chester when paired to “Lydy “ a direct daughter of the big famous “Kittel” these were flown by Anthony on the Darkness system and on the sliding door fantasy system Anthony’s velocities were big wheels rolling doing 3 x 1260.


Anthony Buttigieg

Having his head just behind the winning line was Chris McCarthy taking 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th & 10th federation flying 62miles with his team of darkness flown young birds flying back to each other or the perch in the loft  Chris’s 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 7th birds were bred by Derek Rooney and are bred from the Best of Kittel birds he has Chris’s 5th & 6th birds were bred by Steve Caulet of the north east and these are of Steve’s successful Soojen family of birds Chris’s velocities were five birds landing together on 1257 over the pad & then two birds together on 1256.
