The Welsh North Road Federation

The Welsh North Road Federation held its fourth young bird race of the season from Whitchurch in North Shropshire and on the 14/8/21 the head convoyer released the birds on their way at 12.30pm into a south west wind.

The top ten in the federation was as follows; winning the federation plus also claiming 6th & 7th spot flying 92 miles was Mr & Mrs J Beresford & Son with their team of darkness flown young birds with both sexes left together to do as they please system.  Their federation winner was a young Blue Herman Cuesters cock bred by the partnership’s brother Sam Beresford, their second bird a blue cock which is a Syndicate Loft based bird bred by Robert Pugh of the Rhonda and finally their third arriving bird another blue cock which was a Herman Cuesters bred by Luke Mason of Mason & Son of Leeds.  Their velocities were 1260, & 2x 1200.

2nd federation was John Newbury flying 93 miles with a dark cock flown on the Darkness system paired up sitting nest eggs he is a Cannibal bird crossed with a Robert Pugh of the Rhonda bird his velocity was 1246.

3rd, 4th & 5th federation was Anthony Buttigieg & Son flying 95 miles with three young birds bred by Derek Nicholls of the Premier Stud flown on the Darkness system on the sliding door system separated all three birds are of Herman Cuesters of the Premier Stud.  The first bird a direct daughter of super Hermans fantastic racer breeder father of Olympiad winner Supersonic Mike when he was paired to Dark Secret the best ever daughter of Man “O” Chester.  The second bird is a daughter out of the first combine winning hen Thunder Princess, daughter of Thunder Bolt, winning brother of Better than Bolt and the third bird is a direct daughter of the Mighty Wind the number one son of the legendary breeder Wild Wind. Anthony’s velocities were 1206, 1205 & 1203.

8th & 9th federation was Terry Haywood flying 100 miles with two Leo Van Rijn’s with velocities of 1197 & 1196.

10th federation was Chris McCarthy flying 100 miles with a darkness flown chequer cock which is the Best of Kittel bred from Derek Rooney Stock with a velocity of 1195.
