The Nottingham North Road Federation’s third young bird race of the season was back at Harrogate (2) in West Yorkshire the birds were liberated at 12.30pm into a north west wind, the top ten positions in the federation were as follows,

Winning the federation plus claiming 9th federation was the partnership of B & J Potts & Varley flying 49 miles both their winner and second pigeon were both Lambrecht’s bred from obtained stock birds from Alan Dungworth of South Yorkshire who is famous for his winning Lambrecht family their young bird team are not on the darkness system and are left to do as they please in the young bird loft flying back to the perch their winner a red pied cock in the photo followed by a blue chequer cock their velocities were 1756 & 1742.588.

Taking 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th federation was Paul Crooks flying 74 miles Paul’s first bird a stunning little blue hen which is a Van Loon from the old Brian Bolton lines of Bridlington and all his next scoring birds were of Paul’s  Herman Cuesters the first six birds came to the loft together and all flew round together and dropping in pairs these were all flown on Paul’s darkness celibate system he has created his velocities were 2 x 1743.987 , 1743.598 then 3x 1742.821.

4th & 10th federation was Riggott & Richardson flying 56 miles John Richardson informs us his young bird team are flown on the Darkness system and are left together in the loft to do as they please to pair up or fly back to the perch both scoring birds of two cocks were of their faithful Wildemeersch based family of birds kept with velocities of 1743.882 & 1739.
