The Nottingham North Road Federation

The Nottingham North Road Federation held its 5th young bird race of the season from Blaydon Cricket Ground in the North East not far from the famous Metro Shopping Centre with local pigeon fancier Alan Todd on site also.

The 5/9/21 at 9:30am into an East South East wind, the birds were liberated.  The top ten in the federation were as follows; taking first federation plus 2nd & 3rd & 4th federation was Paul Crooks flying 141 miles Paul’s winner a grand little blue hen has already achieved a 2nd federation from Harrogate this young bird season so far she is a Van Loon from Brian Bolton’s Van Loon’s and her mother is a granddaughter of the famous ‘Oh So Sharp’ pigeon Paul’s 2nd bird a blue hen being a Herman Cuesters her father was bred by Premier Stud and her mother bred by Trevor Taylor of Great Ayton of the North East on the North Yorkshire borders and is a inbred daughter out his famous 25 cock. Paul’s 3rd bird a dark chequer cock being another Van Loon from the famous Planet brothers lines and finally Paul’s 4th pigeon a blue hen being a Van Loon of Brian Bolton’s Van Loon crossed a Kevin Lawson Van Loon. Paul’s four birds came together and were flown on the Darkness system on Paul’s celibacy chaos system his velocities were 2 x 1269 & 2 x 1268.

5th & 6th federation was A J Pywell flying 116 miles with a chequer cock & a chequer hen with two birds together doing 1265.

7th & 8th federation was Riggott & Richardson flying 123 miles with 2 x Wildesmersch hens flying on the darkness system with both sexes left together on natural their first bird is bred from a successful partnership that have produced many winners for the partnership. Their velocities were 1262 & 1261.

9th & 10th federation was Rick & Spiers flying 139 miles with two hens flown on the Darkness system left together with cocks & hens on the natural system their first bird a blue hen which is a Coreman X a gift pigeon from Kevin & Dona Spiers their second bird a blue chequer hen being a Wildesmersch X another Kevin & Dona Spiers gift pigeon with the two birds coming together with a velocity of 2 x 1252.
