The Nottingham North Road Federation

The Nottingham North Road Federation held its 6th young bird race of the 2021 season from Alnwick rugby club in Northumberland on the 11/9/21 and at 9am into a light south west wind the birds were liberated the top ten in the federation were as follows;

Winning the federation was Riggott & Richardson flying 154 miles with a blue hen flown on the Darkness system left together with both sexes on natural in the young bird section this hen being a Van Loon was bred by the partnership of Bowskill & Gascoyne of Clipstone North Nottinghamshire were The two partnership swapped and tried six young birds from each other’s lofts for the season she is a daughter from their NFC Coutances 1st section winning hen that scored well up also in the open of 18th her winning velocity was 1274.

Next taking the 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 positions with eight birds arriving together at the loft was Paul Crooks flying 172 miles with his darkness celibacy system flown young birds all eight birds were of Paul’s created and kept Herman Cuesters his first a blue chequer white flight cock his father is from Trevor Taylor of Great Ayton on the far North Yorkshire borders and his mother was bred by John Wheatcroft of Pinxton his second a blue cock which is bred from out a pair of pigeons Paul purchased from Belgium off Johan Van Herck the third bird a blue chequer pied hen from the Trevor Taylor Lines his fourth a blue hen bred from out Premier Stud birds the fifth a blue cock again from the Trevor Taylor lines the sixth a blue cock which is of Sam Jackson crossed Trevor Taylor Breeding lines, the seventh a blue chequer hen which is a inbred granddaughter to Trevor Taylor’s Famous 25 cock and finally Paul’s eighth bird a blue chequer hen which is a full sister to Paul’s second bird that scored third federation in this race Paul’s velocities were 8 x 1270.


2nd Fed Alnwick

10th federation was Rick & Spires flying 170 miles with a darkness flown natural blue chequer hen flying back to the perch which is a Wildesmersch from Riggott & Richardson crossed a gift pigeon bred by Kevin & Donna Spires with a velocity of 1226.
