The New North Road Amalgamation
The TNNRA held its third race of the season with a visit to Elgin City in the Highlands of Moray in northern Scotland the liberation site being the fields at the side of the Scottish Football league team of Elgin City Football Club and the large community park for this race organisation members of the TNNRA from the Derbyshire north road federation, Northampton town NRFC ,Brixworth NRFC, Grantham & District NRFC, Cotgrave NRFC, & Ilkeston south section FC took part and all sent birds were liberated together in the event with fanciers from these organisations at their choice at £1 a bird duplicating into the amalgamation. Again, owing to bird flu rules, members in the affected zones in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire could not unfortunately take part in the event which is a shame.
The race took part on the 18/6/22 and the birds were liberated at 06.00 am into a south west wind in full warm sunshine. £189 was on the table with £50 kind sponsorship from Kesteven skip and waste services included the top ten positions in the two competing sections for this event are as follows, in the north section winning first open first section plus first Derbyshire north road federation and first Pinxton NRFC was Keith Orton & Son flying 326 miles. Their winner a 1y mealy jealousy system flown cock that is a Fran Dillon from Jepson & Bennett crossed Jansen from Alan Thorpe of Bulwell Nottingham their winning velocity was 1205.

2nd open plus 2nd section and 2nd Chesterfield Stute NRFC and 3rd Derbyshire north road federation flying 318 miles was Aspley & Wragsdale with a 2y blue Van Loon cross Van Lint widowhood flown cock with a velocity of 1198.
3rd and 8th open plus 3rd and 7th section was Andrew Tudor flying 345 miles were he also achieved 1st and 3rd in Grantham & District NRFC both Andy’s scoring birds were flown on the natural system sitting nest eggs and are both Van Loon crossed Herman Cuesters which are bred from stock birds originating from John Norris of Grantham Andy’s velocities were 1176 and 1001.

4th section and 4th open was Dale Gibbions flying 312 miles plus 7th Derbyshire north road federation with a natural flown 2y chequer Jansen cock turned north road this season doing 1158.
5th open 5th section and 10th open 9th section was Peter Norris that also achieved 2nd and 5th Grantham & District NRFC flying 345 miles with two natural flown birds his first a Naylor Sons & Richardson of the north east bred Van Loon 5y chequer hen followed by a 3y blue Jan Arden with velocities of 1046 and 862.
6th open and 6th section, 11th open 10th section was Mr & Mrs Haymes & Son & Grandson flying 321 miles their first a 1y blue cock his father being from John Carrington and his mother from Derek and Ryan Nuttall of Newstead their second bird a 2y blue chequer hen being bred off Dave Atkin birds obtained from Phillip Boden of Frome Somerset their velocities were 1017 and 843.
9th open 8th section was John Norris flying 343 miles with a 2y blue chequer widowhood flown hen which is a PJ lofts stud Delbar her velocity was 925.
Over to the centre section now and achieving 1st section 7th open plus 1st Brixworth NRFC flying 385 miles was Slawomir Janowski his winning bird a 1y chequer hen sent on the natural system sent sitting ten day old nest eggs she was a gift bred youngster to Slaw from Micheal Wypasek of Grays Essex her father being from Sebastian Malinowski-Suski of Southampton of the Maurice Delbar strain her mother being a Podyma a Polish middle distance family. This season is Slaw’s first season flying on the north road and he also achieved a very impressive 9th open In the BICC from Wakefield this season with a south road turned around bird for this race Slaw’s scoring velocity was 1011.

2nd section 14th open and 3rd section 15th open was Mr & Mrs Neal flying 385 miles also achieving 2nd and 3rd Brixworth NRFC with velocities of 620 and 619.
4th section 16th open and 8th section 20th open was Stuart Wisken flying 380 miles with his natural system flown nest sitting birds his first a 2y Grizzle cock that was a gift bred youngster from Roger Withall of the Brixworth club Northampton his second bird a home bred 2y blue hen being Stuart’s own created family which are Dave Woodland of Somerset distance family based Stuart’s velocities were 616 and 589.
5th section 17th open and 10th section 22nd open was Keith Shipley flying 384 miles and also achieved 1st and 5th Northampton town NRFC with velocities of 598 and 568.
6th section 18th open, 7th section 19th open and 9th section 21st open was Julian Richards flying 389 miles and also achieved 2nd, 3rd and 4th Northampton Town NRFC with velocities of 596, 593 and 583.
