Pinxton North Road Open Shows
Our next set of shows to report on was young cocks through the wires and young hens through the wires and a handling show of birds capable of flying 500 miles in the hand the first to report on was young cocks through the wires. The judge for this show was Tom Woods of Nottingham and he was assisted with his fellow club mate Shaun Burton also of Nottingham. The result was as follows winning the show was Ian Halbert of Poolsbrook with a blue pied Southwell crossed Gabby Vandenbeale cock, 2nd was Mr & Mrs C Haymes & Sons of Cromford with a dark cock being bred down from the late Alywne Hill stock, 3rd was Simon Andrews of South Normanton, 4th was Glynn Tryner of Pinxton Reserve Wayne Knobbs of Blidworth, Very highly commended Ian Halbert Highly Commended Gary Jones of Ilkeston with a chequer pied Jansen De Klak cock and commended being Ian Halbert

Young hens through the wires was judged by Dave Stone of Ripley Derbyshire and assisted by his son Dathan Stone and brother in law Jonathan Mee. The result 1st was Glynn Tryner with a blue hen being syndicate loft based from the late Dean Skuse lines, 2nd Gary jones with a chequer pied Jansen De Klak hen, 3rd Gregg Johnson of Ilkeston with a blue Herman Cuesters crossed Soojen hen, 4th was Mick Willis of Derby, Reserve Gregg Johnson, Very Highly Commended Mick Willis, Highly Commended Harold Griffiths of Pinxton and Commended Mick Usher of Long Eaton.

The handling class show was being judged by Dave Woods of Nuneaton assisted by fellow club mate Merv Willdig also of Nuneaton. Winning the show was Darren Oakley of South Normanton, 2nd was John Jackson of Ilkeston with a blue steel of Uttoxeter strain hen, 3rd was Mick Willis, 4th Mick Usher Reserve John Jackson, Very highly commended Ian Halbert, Highly commended Wayne Knobbs and commended Ian Halbert.
