The DNRF kicked off its 2023 season with a visit to Wetherby race course in West Yorkshire, prior to this, the members were involved with pre-season winter shows at the federations HQ Pinxton miners welfare which was some great fun and enjoyable events plus the federations breeder buyer event pen sale to be flown from Dunbar in September raised £1,185 and the members who took part in the new north road amalgamations Futurity event in the triple chancer scheme raised just short of £80,000 which is a historical north road achievement scheme and event well done to all and good luck.  Plus the August Bank holiday Berwick Bonanza Gold ring scheme is in full flow with entries coming in which is so simple of submitting myself a ring number before the 31st of May and after this it’s closed and a ring list of fanciers compiled for all to see and view with the cost of £10 a ring and maximum of 10 ring numbers/rings per fancier. You can enter and two sections of a north section of 165 miles to 199 miles and a south section of 200 miles plus and prizes split 50/50 this is open to all flying the distances and entries to myself on 07947896043.

Now over to the result on the 29/4/23 at 8am into a light north west wind Clarance, Kai and Cameron liberated the birds on their way the top twenty open positions were as follows having a great start claiming 1st, 2nd ,3rd, 4th, 5th and 19th federation was the chesterfield lofts of husband and wife partnership of Mick and Christine Herbert, wife Christine is as keen with the pigeons as Husband Mick and Christine is in charge of the cocks race team and Mick of the hens team. The old birds are raced on the widowhood system with both sexes racing and having their own managers and sections with each competing as one all their scoring birds were of their Gabby Vandenbeale based team and the Fed topper being a 3y chequer hen their velocities for the 44 mile race was 1550, 2x 1548, 1544, 1543 and 1516.

6th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 16th federation was the father and son partnership of Derek and Ryan Nuttall flying 60 miles with their round about system flown team their first a Van Roy Cross Syndicate lofts 2y chequer cock that is a new north road Futurity rung purchased baby that won the partnership some hundreds of pounds from the Saint Boswells 2021 final followed by a 4y Rick Herman cross Syndicate lofts blue hen their next a Raw De Sablon 2y blue hen followed by 4 x Syndicate loft based hens with velocities of 1531, 1530,1528.40, 1528.09, 2 x 1527.70 and 1526.60.

8th, and 15th federation was Keith Orton & Son flying 59 miles with 2 x 2y blue hens being grandchildren descents off the Rossi cock flown on widowhood with velocities of 1529 and 1526.70.

10th and 20th federation was Mr & Mrs Guilford flying 70 miles with their first a Jansen cross Gaston Van De Wouwer 2y chequer cock followed by a 1y blue cock similar bred Jansen Gaston flown on widowhood with velocities of 1528.098 and 1514.

14th federation was Mick Usher flying 69 miles with a 2y blue staff Van Reet hen sent on natural sitting 15 day old nest eggs doing 1527.20. 17th federation was Mr & Mrs Hasslam & Son flying 63 miles with a 2y blue Herman Cuesters widowhood flown cock doing 1520.
