After the winners of all three sections reported on for the £76,040.22 event here is the top ten scoring birds of the centre section out of the three sections two racing from Dunbar and one from Wetherby the centre section Dunbar event flying for £22,120.

1st was the partnership of Litherland, Bailey & Harrison of Swadlincote and the van Den Bulk grizzle hen bred by John Mee of Cromford Matlock (previously reported on in previous article) winning £6910.14.

2nd was Ion Pirvu of Tamworth with his own bred bird winning himself £3592.14 the bird being a blue cock flying 236 miles which he has now called Vasi and his full nest mate sister this season achieved 4th place in the Birch Coppice 5 bird open race from Honiton on the south road and also his full brother achieved 25th open Midlands National Weymouth 2022. He was raced on the Darkness system on the auto mated sliding door system used on Ion’s loft mobile and laptop system’s as he works long hours in the city office at Birmingham at times Vasi’s father was bred by Ion and sent over to compete in the Romanian Royal city one loft race of 2020 were he achieved 49th hot spot 1, 350th hot spot 2, 13th hot spot 3, 8th semi-final 78th final & 41st A.S Ion purchased him back and brought him back to Tamworth to breed off being Vasi’s father and was paired to Vasi’s Mother being in bred to Olympic Esmee responsible for 1st NPO Province 11 Friesland against 4,269 in 2014 plus winning 17 prizes in her flying career for the TJ & J Elzinga Harkema of the Netherlands.

3rd section was Mr & Mrs Ian Wilson of Coventry flying 248 miles with a chequer hen bred by Michael David George of Bristol and her breeding being a Paige Brothers Jansen crossed Jelle Jellema they win £1,243.07 each of £2486.14  Ian has called her now Boy George she had 3 races in the Warwickshire Federation then constant 15 mile training flights Ian informs us and had paired to a young cock in the young bird loft and was sent to Dunbar sitting nest eggs Ian at the marking and day of the race was away on booked planned holiday and would like to thank John McNeil for taking the birds to the marking station and also clocking her in.

4th section was Dennis Morrisey of Corby flying 251 miles with a blue chequer cock in which Dennis himself bred him and won himself £1490.74 the parents both originated from John Norris of Grantham and are bred from out of Johns Lerwick flying family he has created from flying and winning Lerwick over the many many years he has sent to Lerwick and raced north road  Dennis after recently returning to the sport after a 30 year break has had some good success and the young birds were flown just on the traditional natural system flying back to their perches as the darkness system Dennis has never performed before he informs us and were fed on a good Versea Larga young bird brands Dennis only has one arm and on marking at the Northampton marking station unfortunately occurred a ETS issue with his clock and was set a T3 manual clock for the event and would like to thank his wife June for her patience in waiting for the bird and clocking him in for Dennis and Dennis would also like to Thank Stuart Wisken for his help and of all members of the Grantham club who have warmly welcomed him to their club.

5th section was Lyndon Rowland & partner of Tamworth flying 238 miles with a blue hen that was bred by the winning loft of Litherland Bailey & Harrison winning £524.17 each of £1,048.34. The breeding of the bird being a Gabby Vandenbeale crossed Jan Hooymans crossed Van Den Bulk and is bred off the partnerships 3rd open Midlands national Weymouth scoring cock when paired to the partnerships old hens midlands national section winning hen from Weymouth and the Gabby Vandenbeale side originate from Ian Cameron stock and this bird has raced south road by Lyndon with the Tamworth south road federation and was sent straight into Dunbar and came up trumps and dug into the challenge for him.

6th section was Andrez Jezakowski of Northampton flying 267 miles with a blue hen in which Andrez bred himself winning £937.74 she was raced on the traditional young bird natural system and is bred from down from Andréz’s good Belgian hen in which he’s created a family around that have won for him on the south road and north road routes from short distances to long distances she previously before Dunbar achieved a 4th Brixworth club from Wetherby 117 miles for Andrez

7th and 10th section flying 246 miles was Mr & Mrs Perkins of Bedworth both their scoring birds were bred by Peter McFarlane of Northampton and Peter bred and entered young birds to all three section event races in the amalgamation from Wetherby and 2 x Dunbars and scored and won money in all three events the first bird in this event being a blue cock of Franz Zwols crossed Koopman and the second a blue hen a staff Van Reet winning them £683.36 each out of £1,366.72.

8th section was Robert Glover of Nuneaton flying 242 miles with a chequer pied hen being bred by Ian Rockley of Nottingham being a Jos Soojen and she previously achieved a 3rd club at Church Road Flying Club from Wetherby for Robert she was sent to Dunbar sitting a 4 day old nest baby she won them each £358.27 out of £716.54.

9th section was David Cooper of Ratby Leicester flying 237 miles with a blue pied cock bred by John Scott of Lincolnshire and its breeding is bred out of Johns good blue white flight hen that achieved 3rd open in the new north road amalgamation from Thurso in 2019 398 miles and also timed in and carded at the local Grantham club from Thurso 2021. She was bred by G McLean of Scotland and the sire being a chequer cock bred from D Mitchell crossed Andrew Lee birds both from Scotland this chequer cock also flew Thurso for John David informs us this cock being sent to Dunbar was his first race as he would always go missing for a few days after a training flight and return back a day or more later and even do this odd times when let out around the loft to exercise so a few weeks before the race David tried to settle him by pairing him to an old hen were he paired and was sent to Dunbar sitting 10 day old nest eggs and with the prizes available he had to go so David sent him he was sent sitting on the darkness system and did get stuck in to the challenge and returned to David’s surprise and delight they both won £330.62 out of 661.24.

Well that’s the top ten out of the top scoring birds out of other monies paid out in the centre section.
