The new north road amalgamations south section Futurity race top ten to report on flying for £24,450 paid to 30 scoring birds this was scheduled to be flown from Hexham at the 200/ 250 mile mark but due to a wet poor forecast over a period of days and the weekend the birds went to Wetherby in West Yorkshire flying back to Gloucestershire Somerset and south Wales on the 15/9/23 at 12.05pm into a south east wind.

Winning the event was Chris & John Adams of Bristol winning £10,000 report of winning pigeon previously compiled the other 9 scoring birds of the top ten were as follows; claiming 2nd spot was Mr & Mrs Andrew & Sandra Cooke of Longford Gloucestershire purchasing their own bird back a blue chequer cock his dam being purchased directly from P & D racing stud being a Dirk Van Den Bulk of the Mr Specialized blood lines at the stud and his sire being a Jansen of the partnerships own bred which has sired them many one loft race event scoring birds the partnership participates in this cock this season has achieved a 8th open south west of England Lerwick club a 1st Gala 2Bird club 17th open 6th section E international championship club and a 1st Longford club for the partnership plus winning £5000 in this event of £2500 breeder and buyer he was flown on the Darkness system flying back to the perch flying 146 miles

3rd was A Hofton & Son of Gloucestershire with a blue chequer hen being bred from off a Lambrechts hen originating from Brian Dearn of the Lancashire social circle crossed with a Grizzle cock from Geoff Kirkland being a grandson off the famous snake bird of Geoff’s the Lambrecht hen the mother now in the stock loft achieved a 1st club 9th west of England combine from Massac 280 miles when on the south road for the partnership the scoring bird for this event was flown on the celibate system with the hens not seeing any cocks at all flown not on the Darkness system but the normal system allowing natural moults she won the partnership £2500 of £1,250 each breeder and buyer flying 146 miles

4th was Trevor Cooke of Longford Gloucestershire with a dark pied cock that was bred by Szmaglik & Humphries of Bristol being a Muller Jan Arden crossed with the partnerships own created distance strain they have created over the many years racing from out of Scotland the sire has achieved 1st club 8th open SWELC Thurso and has flown Lerwick Twice to Bristol Trevor raced the bird on the darkness system left with the sexes on natural to pair or just fly back to the perch this cock received every young bird race in the SWELC young bird race programme calendar not being stopped. They both won £700 each of the £1400 won Trevor flew 146 miles.

5th was Terry Hayward of Cardiff flying 183 miles with a blue cock in which Terry bred and purchased back himself to race he is a Herman Cuesters raced on the traditional young bird natural system and is a half-brother to Terrys 2022 international Championship club open winner also from Wetherby Terry wins £800 of £400 each breeder and buyer

6th was Dave Ford of Nailsworth South Gloucestershire with a blue hen flying 162 miles in which Dave bred himself and purchased back to race her breeding being a Herman Cuesters crossed Herbots the mother being the Herman Cuesters that has won Dave 2 x 2nd federations on the south road route and this season was sent to Fraserburgh in north Scotland and was Daves first bird back and her father the Herbots cock is now retired in Daves stock loft and when raced on the road achieved 3 x 1st clubs for Dave she was flown on the Darkness system sent paired up sitting 7day old nest eggs she won Dave £600 of £300 each breeder and buyer

7th was Leighton Golledge & Son of Newport with a blue cock flying 175 miles and being bred by Kevin Williams of Newport and is bred from out of a direct daughter of Kittlena from the premier stud and is the same way bred as Leighton’s international Championship club open winner from Hexham YB race 2022 season he was flown on the Darkness system flying back to his perch each winning £250 out of £500 he won.

8th was Chris Orchard of Gloucestershire flying 154 miles with a blue chequer hen being bred by Mr & Mrs Wells of Bristol being a Paul Stobbs Soojen being raced on the traditional young bird system just flying back to the perch not on darkness she was the only one bird Chris sent and she received 4 club races prior to this event she wins each £200 out of £400 she won.

9th was Trevor Cooke of Longford again with a blue hen being bred by Rafal Barutowicz of Nottingham being from his Polish strain and Kellens flown on the Darkness system left to do as they please and receiving every young bird race as possible in the race programme prior to the event they each win £200 out of £400 won

10th was Dave Smith of Thornbury flying 169 miles with a blue cock being bred by Mark Pitman of Bristol being a Van Den Brand crossed Dirk Van Den Bulk and was on the Darkness system paired up feeding a 12 day old nest baby he also 2 weeks prior to this event won 1st open international championship club from Wetherby each won £100 out of £200 he won. Well that’s the top ten of the south section reported on well done to all and myself and the committee would like to wish all members a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.
