The annual Pinxton North Road HS open winter shows kicked off with the annual 6 events unfortunately going to 5 events due to adverse snow blizzards then advance road and area flooding this was unsafe to travel in and the health and safety of fanciers most important so was called off and the winter weather this winter has been dreadful and depressing so a few winter shows and get togetherness was well needed. Here are the results of the shows held; first up was any age any sex through the wires with a good turnout of fanciers and birds this was judged by Barry Baker and his Son.

1st was Andrew Greengrass with a Blue Dordin Cock
2nd was Darren Padgett with a Chequer hen of Mark Gilbert strain
3rd was Gregg Johnson with a Mealy Cock of Scottish distance strain
4th was Gregg Johnson with a red chequer cock of Dave Rouse and Larry & Kevin Gaunt stock birds breeding,
Reserve was Mick Willis & Family with a gay pied Staff Van Reet of Mark Cauldwell strain
Very Highly Commended was Mr & Mrs Clarence & Barbara Haymes & Sons

Reserve was D Nuttall & Son with a Leo Hermans from Dave Evans birds

highly commended was John Jackson with a blue Soojen cock that’s club carded and carded in the Amal 2Bird in 2023 and commended was Bentley & Cuthbert with a blue De Klak cock and raced on the road to Hexham Perth & Fraserburgh with the new north road amalgamation and scored well at Perth after being missing for several months as a young bird he has since been placed back on the road.

Millbridge North Road HS within the Spen Valley North Road federation held two Christmas Meat Hamper prize Draws for your Christmas and New Years Celebration Meal the meat hampers of locally sourced hand butchered farm meats and local quality produce from Topcliffe Grange Farm Meats Dewsbury Road Morley Leeds by fancier butchers Mark Speight and Ian Gaunt the two prize draws were drawn and the winners being decided by the national lottery number bonus ball by people picking a number to win a hamper before the draw the first winner with number 30 being Tina Madden x 1 hamper box and the second draw the week after was number 8 with the winner being Peter Simmons x 1 hamper box well done to Tina and Peter and well done to all organisers and to butchers Mark and Ian .
