The DNRF was racing from Alnwick Rugby club in Northumberland on the 2/9/23 and at 10.30 am into a south east wind Tyson liberated the birds on their way the top twelve positions in the federation were as follows; and having a tremendous race with having a kit of ten birds drop together for the 166 Mile race in a head wind was young bird specialist Robert Pearson of Kilburn near Belper in Derbyshire with them doing it in 3 hours and 32 minutes only the seconds making the positions in the race when over the finish pad. The birds were flown on the darkness young bird system separated on the sliding door system Robert’s 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 7th birds were home bred Lambrechts and Herman Cuesters with the parents originating from Brian Johnson near Pontefract in West Yorkshire Robert’s 4th arrival a blue cock was bred by Gary Jones of Ilkeston and is a De Klak crossed Jansen crossed Herman Cuesters and was purchased by Robert at the New North Road Amalgamation Futurity sale Robert’s 5th, 8th, 9th and 10th arrivals were all Lambrechts bred by Kevin Lawson of Ollerton and again were purchased by Robert at the New North Road Amalgamations young bird sale and Robert’s 6th bird a chequer white flight hen was bred by Derek and Ryan Nuttall and being a syndicate lofts bred bird and again was purchased at the New North Road Amalgamations young bird sale Robert’s velocities were 1378, 3 x 1377, 2 x 1375, and 4 x 1374.

11th federation was D & A Smith flying 167 miles with a darkness flown dark chequer cock that was bred by Harold Griffiths of Pinxton and was purchased at the New North Road Amalgamations Futurity sale also. Their velocity was 1360.

12th federation was Mr & Mrs Hasslam & Son flying 165 Mile with a Soojen Herman Cuesters based blue hen flown on the darkness system doing a velocity of 1358.
