The Millbridge North Road Federations second old bird race of 2024 to report on was back at Darlington on the 5/5/24 and at 10am into a light south west wind the birds were liberated the top open twelve positions in the federation are as follows;

claiming 1st and 2nd federation was a partnership of no stranger to wins with many many wins on the south road route over the years achieved at club and federation and combine levels and RPRA award winning lofts of S Speight & Son as we say good pigeons and fanciers can win from anywhere this partnership switched their young bird team from south road to north road half way through the 2023 young bird season and achieved some good results on the north road and are continuing this their first bird a 1y blue hen being a Gabby Vandenbeale and is a direct daughter from their 2019 RPRA award winning bird and their second also being a Gabby Vandenbeale 1y chequer pied hen with both being flown on the widowhood system flying 56 miles with velocities of 1359 and 1355.

3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th federation was Paul & Gary Cooper flying 58 miles their first two being Herman Cuesters from Premier Stud and their third a Pitbull crossed Herman Cuesters then followed by another Premier Stud Herman Cuesters all being flown on the widowhood system their first being a 2y then the rest all yearlings with velocities of 2 x 1345, 1344 and 1343.779.

7th federation was Ralph Ellis & Son flying 67 miles with a 2y chequer cock being a Van Den Bulk flown on the widowhood system and has club carded for the partnership previously on the south road route before being switched to the north road route this season with a velocity of 1343.270.

8th, 9th, 10th and 11th federation was The Castello Family & Leach flying 61 miles with 4 x yearling all flown on the roundabout system and all being Leach Brothers of Hebden Bridge Van Den Bulks crossed the Castello's own blended successful family with velocities of 1316, 1315 and 2 x 1314.

12th federation was A & B Halstead flying 66 miles with a 1y chequer hen being a Lambrechts  crossed Van Dyke being flown on the roundabout system with a velocity of 1309. Well that's the top open twelve positions next week will be moving up to Hexham.
