The New North Road Amalgamation
The TNNRA second event of 2024 was being flown from Elgin city in Murray north Scotland with this being the 300/ 380 Mile mark event for the north and central members taking part in the event as always over the years we attend this beautiful scenic place a warm welcome was made with the two local Elgin pigeon fanciers of Stephen Micheal and Jock Jack who's raced and kept pigeons 62 years this year flying at Elgin flying club with the highland federation a great achievement Jock, Stephen and Jock always offer a hand and give advice on the local Scottish weather and watch the liberation which took place on the 22/6/24 at 8 am into a south westerly wind

£523.15 was on the table and the top ten of the two competing sections are as follows; claiming the red card and flowing their success of wins of the 2024 old bird season claiming 1st open 1st north section was Mr & Mrs Hasslam & Son of Langley Mill Nottinghamshire flying 330 miles with a 2y chequer cock being a Herman Cuesters crossed Jan Arden flown on the widowhood system with a velocity of 1322.

Next having a cluster attack of birds dropping at 335 miles claiming 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 8th open plus 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 8th north section was Bentley & Cuthbert of Nottingham and their scoring yearlings were never raced as young birds after becoming very Ill with a bacteria virus which took time and patience to cure and a great service by Sandhill vets of Ripon so we're just trained as young birds but have now been raced as yearlings with the old bird race events their first arrival a 2y blue hen they call Bonnie being a De Klak bred from gift stock birds from Ron Stevens and Gary Mccauley of North Shields she's previously scored from Hexham, Perth and Fraserburgh in 2023 in the amalgamation and Warwickshire federation and was raced on the partnerships own created roundabout system the second on the clock a 1y blue chequer hen being flown celibate left in a section with another 9 hens and she won the club from Wetherby 68 miles the week before being sent to Elgin she paired 3 weeks before going gay to another hen in the section were they allowed her to sit eggs her and her partner hen had laid switching them to pot eggs were once a week the partnership changed the colours of the eggs each week they were sat to try a new motivational tip they experimented with her breeding being a De Klak crossed Leo Herman. The third to clock a small 1y blue hen being bred from Micky Collins of Birmingham stock being flown on the roundabout system and the fourth clocked being a 1y mealy cock being flown on the roundabout system and his parents cost just £50 were Gary Tomlinson of Who Dares wins one loft was selling some pigeons on Facebook for Carl Ford of Fordys lofts as Carl had to pack pigeons up and the birds needed to be sold ASP the birds took the eye of the partnership of a pretty red pied cock and a blue hen so they decided to just try a pair hence the now mealy cock their velocities were 1309, 2 x 1308 and 1292.

5th, 6th and 10th open and 5th, 6th and 10th north section was Darren Oakley of South Normanton Derbyshire flying 324 miles his first a 1y blue white flight hen being Darren's old original Herman Cuesters family blended with a touch of Soojen his second a 2y chequer pied hen that bred Darren's first 2023 amalgamation Futurity bird from Dunbar winning over £1000 again this being of Darren's old Herman Cuesters family and his third arrival a 1y chequer cock being a full brother to Darren's 2024 NRCC Dunbar winner being a Herman Cuesters crossed Syndicate lofts birds all were flown on the widowhood system for the event with velocities of 2 x 1301 and 1287.
7th open and 7th north section was I & M Spencer of Wirksworth Derbyshire flying 323 miles with a 1y blue cock that flew south road as a young bird with the North Derbyshire South Road Federation and his breeding being bred off gift birds from Robert Pearson of Kilburn Derby flown on the widowhood system with a velocity of 1295.
9th open and 9th north section was Richard Oldham of Hucknall Nottinghamshire with a Louella stud based Jan Arden 1y blue cock flown on Richard's version of a Roundabout system with a velocity of 1291.
Over to the central section claiming 1st, 4th and 7th central section and 12th, 31st and 47th open was J & T Gateley of Market Harborough flying 372 miles this partnership is no stranger to success with the midlands national and the once operating Leicestershire continental club success in both achieved and same on the north road at club federation and amalgamation level their first a 2y chequer cock being a Van De Driessche crossed Van De Heede and the next two scoring birds being both Van De Heedes all being flown on the traditional widowhood cock system with velocities of 1268, 1223 and 1206.

2nd section 22nd open was Les Berry & Son of Desborough flying 362 miles with a 2y blue cock his Sire being a M & D Evan's Gabby Vandenbeale crossed J Hooymans of Harry crossed Peter Veensra and his Dam a Battenberg crossed Peter Van De Mere being flown on the widowhood system with a velocity of 1248.648. 3rd section and 24th open was Ian Jarratt of Northamptonshire flying 382 miles with a 2y blue cock which is the same cock that achieved 1st section 2nd open Perth in the amalgamation this cock has a string of cards and wins for Ian at club and federation level he was flown on the widowhood system and being bred from Billy Calver of Stockton birds his velocity was 1248.074
5th section 33rd open was G Chaplin & Son of Leicestershire flying 351 miles with a 2y chequer cock being a Lambrechts flown on the roundabout system with a velocity of 1221.
6th section and 38th open was R & S Gubbins of Northamptonshire flying 378 miles with a 5y blue hen being a Cattrysse and this old loyal test of time standing strain of birds and breeding at the lofts originate from Cattrysse from Joe Mcenna and Ray Tate she has been switched to the north road route from the south road route and was one of the partnerships regular channel flier which has claimed scoring cards for the partnership she was flown on the roundabout system with a velocity of 1217.
8th and 9th section plus 50th and 58th open was TP Wainwright of Ashby De La Zouch flying 346 miles the first into the manual T3 clock they use being a 2y chequer cock followed by a 2y dark cock both being flown on the natural system of their own created family strain with velocities of 1202 and 1194.
10th section and 62nd open was Dennis Morrisey of Corby flying 368 miles with a 3y blue cock being a Soojen that was bred by Josh Murphy of the Murphy Brothers of Corby he was flown on the widowhood system with a velocity of 1188.
