The last 2Bird event of 2024 with the separate liberation of no duplication with the birds for the classic event doing it themselves at the furthest point was at Thurso the members not shying away from the challenge had £146.90 on the table on the 20/7/24 the birds were liberated at 06.50 am into a south westerly wind winning the event was a gentleman of Aubrey Baker of Retford in the Worksop club flying 378 miles with a 2y blue chequer hen and being clocked into a manual T3 clock the hen being a pure Eric Higginbottom of Bolsover blood bred bird bred from a pair of gift birds from Eric to Aubrey her nest mate sister achieved as a 1y won Perth at the Worksop club and achieved a 3rd from Thurso at the Workshop club so a good nest of two sisters bred the Thurso 2Bird was flown on the roundabout system with a stand out excel velocity of 1309.

2nd and 7th was John Swinn flying 391 miles with a 5y blue white flight cock and a 4y red cock with velocities of 965 and 684.

3rd was Keith Orton & Son flying 391 miles with a 3y dark hen being a Herman Cuesters flown on the natural system doing 958.

4th was A Kemp & Son flying 400 miles with a 3y blue chequer hen being of Kevin Lawson of Ollerton bloodline based bred flown on the natural system doing 891.

5th and 8th was Dave Woods flying 426 miles his first a 5y chequer cock being a Jan Arden bred by LoL Turner of Coventry he flew and achieved 1st section and 18th open from the Orkney Island Stormness in the NNRA in 2022 and has picked up many other cards for Dave and even scored well from Elgin in the NNRA so full on endurance distance blood he was sent on the natural system sitting nest eggs Dave's second bird out of 2 sent was a 5y blue cock of Dave's own created family of distance birds were this cocks flew Elgin and Thurso prior and has carded for Dave he was sent on the natural system also sitting nest eggs Dave's velocities were 725 and 649.
