The Millbridge North Road Federation

The federation was moving forward up from Darlington the week previous with this race being at Hexham on the 17/8/24 with a 12.45pm liberation into a strong south west wind the top twelve positions in the federation are as follows; continuous in succession again was Ron Kitching taking 1st position plus 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th flying 87 miles the winner a blue hen being a Leo Herman his second a blue pied cock also being a Leo Herman the next a blue cock followed by another blue cock then a red chequer cock followed by a blue chequer hen and then a chequer white flight cock with all five being Stephan Lambrects with velocities of 4x 1318, and 3 x 1317.

8th federation was S Speight & Son flying 86 miles with a chequer pied hen being bred by J & J Greenfield of Barnsley and was purchased at the federations young bird sale and thanks must go to Damian Furness who looked after the birds and set up while the family was away for a well earn summer holiday in Greece their velocity was 1314.

9th federation was Peter Smith flying 98 miles with a mealy cock being a Wildesmeersch crossed Jan Thealan with a velocity of 1298.

10th federation was C Lister & Son & Grace flying 89 miles with a blue cock being bred by P & G Cooper doing 1292.

11th and 12th federation were Dyer & Borg flying 90 miles with 2 x hens of a blue hen and a chequer pied hen both being bred from Leon Prince of Cheadle Staffordshire birds with velocities of 2 x 1289.

The federation for its members for the young birds in 2025 will be holding a gold ring race from the furthest young bird race held in September this is open to all members at £10 each please call secretary mark on 07958308368.
