Andy Smith get's off to a flyer

Andy Smith get's off to a flyer

Well, all we finally have lift off. The Lerwick clubs Committee was like most people in the Uk watching the news closely for Boris Johnson’s Lock down easing laws on the 1st of June being announced and the press release from the RPRA on allowing racing pigeons to proceed in England on this being allowed to commence the Lerwick clubs transporters keys was already in the ignition to get things started for its members to start racing as soon as possible to claw some old bird races back for its members. So on the 2nd of June the club was racing from Stratford Upon Avon at the race course track in Warwickshire members sending and birdage was slightly down as always the first race is in most organisations and a pigeon race being flown on a Tuesday in the  week when working fanciers are at work also affected things but still 32 members sent 543 birds that were liberated by convoyer Peter on a glorious sunny warm morning at 08.00am into a light North East tail wind.
