It is with the deepest regret we have to announce the sudden death of Rob Horton, at no age he was taken away. Rob was probably one of the best sprint race fliers in and around Tamworth, he had regular great flying success in his two local federations the Tamworth & District South Road Federation and the Burton & South Derbyshire South Road Federation. His local club was the big strong Dosthill Flying club in its prime and recently the Birch Coppice Flying Club where regular wins always occurred for him.
Rob was a person who was translucent and kept nothing a secret and spoke his mind and his pigeons did the talking for him with his performances achieved. Rob would help anyone out with his knowledge and kindness and also enjoying his funny banter.
Rob had a great family of the finest Lambrecht pigeons and Alex Dock pigeons that you could obtain which he was so very proud of also Rob was very handy with his hands and would always be building or helping folk out and pottering around his lofts.
He sadly leaves behind his wife and three children, one son and two daughters and eight grandchildren our thoughts are with these at this very sad time rest in peace Rob and watch our pigeons race home in the skies at the weekend buddy, love from Gary and Marina Smith of Nuneaton, where they will both miss the morning crack with you on the phone or in person and from Gregg Johnson and Shaun Pilgrim of Hucknall.
