The New North Road Amalgamation
The final online show we held was of some fun and competitive spirit where it was the north section members birds Vs the West section members and birds where each member could enter a picture of three of any of their liking birds for the competition, this was probably our best supported show to end it all off and there were some stunning looking birds entered.
This show was kindly sponsored by BJF quality pigeon feeds of Whales, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, where some gift vouchers were on offer. If you ever visit BJF pigeon store it can be very difficult with the wide section of everything for pigeons under one big roof to make the decision on what to spend the vouchers on, myself and wife call the place the Tesco of the pigeon world as it’s just like a Tesco Extra supermarket store selling everything to the show and our judge was Stephen Cooper of Gleadless, Sheffield.
Steve, The Judge
Steve, in the 2020 season, had a fantastic achievement in the NFC from Pau with his blue pied 4y hen which he has named her the Covid Queen. She achieved 3rd section K 14th open NFC flying 695 miles plus first Band UK Masters 600/700 miles and best long distance pigeon award RPRA Derbyshire and South Yorkshire region award.
The Covid Queen Pau Hen
Her breeding is of a Dave Impett bird of Blackpool crossed with a Luc Van Coppenol bird. Steve is a fancier that raises a lot of funds for well worthy charities within our sport which is a great kind thing in aiding well deserving organisations plus he devotes commitment and time to his local federation, the Stocksbridge South Road Federation as if it ain’t right we ain’t doing it regime ways keep up the good work Steve and thanks on behalf of us for judging the show.
The results were as follows; first Shaun Pilgrim of Hucknall Premier FC (north sec) with a chequer cock plus the BJF vouchers.
second Dave Smith of Thornbury NRFC (west sec) with a blue pied cock.
third was Jody McKay of Bridgewater NRFC (West sec) with a blue cock.
fourth was Andy George of Bristol South NRFC (west sec) with a blue hen.
Reserve was Shaun Pilgrim with his already scoring Red chequer hen (north sec)
Very Highly commended was Tony Hennessy of Hucknall Premier FC (north sec) with a chequer pied cock.
Highly commended was Andy George of Bristol South NRFC (west sec) with a chequer pied cock and
commended was Lucas Team Uk of Hucknall Premier FC with a chequer hen (north sec), so even scores really four north and four west scoring birds so that’s the last of our Covid breaker shows and now most are probably busy breeding their 2021 young birds.
Take care everyone and thanks to all who took part for some free harmless fun.
Also please note our Futurity Saint Boswells young bird sales will take place at the end of March and beginning of April hopefully in the traditional pen form of auctions externally or internally if not due to Covid other arrangements are in place many thanks
