The New North Road Amalgamation Two Bird
The New North Road Amalgamation held its first race of the season from Hexham racecourse in Northumberland. The organisation now also operates a two bird race were any of its members can participate in which operates after the main amalgamation race two birds only may be entered and sent by the members only and these are marked and basketed separately from the main amalgamation birds as a separate liberation for the two birds entered always takes place from the shortest race point right through to the furthest race point. On the 5/6/21 at 07.30am the head convoyer Mr Humphries liberated the birds into full sunshine and a light westerly wind on site.
The top 12 positions were as follows; 1st was Paul Maiden of Oakham flying 168 miles winning £191 his winning velocity was 1488 with a jealousy system flown blue chequer 1y hen Paul informs me she has been very dominant and ruling the section loft floor and causing fights all week in the loft as any other hen in the loft she does not like. Her breeding is of Graham Walker of Manchester Flor Engles Jansen X with a daughter out of the Champagne lady.

2nd & 9th was Tom & Dougie Fisher of Bingham flying 146 miles and winning £50 with their first bird their reliable multiple winning Welsh 5y chequer Herman Cuesters hen with velocities of 1451 & 1376.
3rd & 4th with two birds dropping in almost together was Wayne Knobbs of Blidworth flying 134 miles and winning £50 with two widowhood flown Roland Jansen hens both being yearlings doing 1447 & 1444.

5th & 10th was Derek & Ryan Nuttall of Newstead village flying 135 miles and winning £10 with two widowhood flown syndicate loft based birds with velocities of 1471 & 1373.
6th was Andrew Kemp & Son flying 143 miles winning £37 with a 4y chequer white flight widowhood cock that is bred from Steve Hallam of Sutton in Ashfield stock distance birds crossed with their own strain of racing birds with a velocity of 1399.
7th was Kevin Ward of Chesterfield flying 123 miles with a 1y Grizzle hen round about System flown Felix Powell Jansen X Van Loon doing 1378.

8th was D Fowler & Son of Grantham flying 154 miles with a natural flown 4y blue Gabby Vandenbeale hen doing 1377.
11th was J & A Cole of Radcliffe Nottingham with a 2y blue natural flown hen which was bred by Hubert Walker of Newark and was purchased by Jonathan Cole at a young bird fund raiser sale they flew 145 miles doing 1367. 12th was John Swinn of Blidworth Mansfield flying 134 miles with a natural flown 4y blue chequer hen doing 1365.
