The New North Road Amalgamation (2Bird)

The Amalgamation’s 2 bird operated its second race of the season from Thornton Park in Fife Scotland, home of the famous Scottish pigeon scribe of Joe Murphy.  As always the entered two birds are liberated separately 15 minutes after the main Amalgamation birds short or far away all the time this being the 230 plus miles point for most who entered the race.  We would like to thank Thornton Hibs Football club and local pigeon fancier Joe Murphy who made us most welcome at the site and aided access to the site and also to Joe who helped out with the two liberations.

To the top ten birds now in the result taking first spot was Andy Kemp of Andy Kemp & Son of Gedling Nottingham they won £113.90p flying 235 miles with a 4y chequer white flight widowhood flown cock that originates from Steve Hallam of Sutton in Ashfield Mansfield breeding lines from his high performing Northern Classic club team birds crossed with one of Andy’s own creative successful strain bird his winning velocity was 1462.

Taking 2nd & 7th was Wayne Knobbs winning £45 flying 226 miles his first bird a 1y blue Rowland Jansen cross widowhood cock his second bird a 6y Ray & Rose Lander based Bushart blue widowhood cock with velocities of 1451 & 1362.

3rd place was Mr & Mrs Rob & Steve Pateman & Son of Leicester winning £35 flying 255 miles with a 3y blue widowhood flown cock bred by John Norris of Grantham his velocity was 1446.

4th & 6th was Derek & Ryan Nuttall flying 227 miles winning £15 with a 3y blue Syndicate loft based hen doing 1432 & 2y chequer widowhood cock doing 1424.

5th was John Swinn of Blidworth Mansfield winning £10 flying 227 miles with a 4y blue hen doing 1430.

8th was Mr & Mrs Tom Mounsey flying 227 miles with a 1y chequer hen doing 1355 9th was Gregg Johnson of Ilkeston flying 231 miles with a 4y chequer white flight Jansen X Neil Inger pigeon roundabout flown cock doing 1328.

10th was Peter Norris flying 247 miles with a 2y blue Jan Arden X john Gerhard Jansen widowhood cock doing 1326. Other prize winners were Dennis Wheatcroft & Son winning £8.
