Enfield Continental Flying Club
The last two races of the Young Bird season arrived, one from Carentan with the UBI Combine, unfortunately no members sent to that one. The other race was from Blandford which these birds were Liberated at 8am in a Light East Wind. Taking the Top spot for the final race we had Geoff Barker with a Grizzle Lambrecht Hen picking up her second win after taking top spot from Honiton the week before.
This Hens parents were bred by Mick Simpson of Tadcaster. Geoff also took 2nd & 3rd Club with a Blue Lambrecht Hen, previously 3rd Club Blandford & a Dark Pied Lambrecht Cock having his first race of the season Once again both parents bred by Mick Simpson and all 3 containing the bloodlines of Champion Liam of Bill Duckworth. Fourth Club was Peter Glass with a Blue Chequer Cock from Peter’s own Heinz 57 family. Taking 5th & 6th Club was Peter Twyford with a Blue Chequer Cock & a Red Chequer Hen that are both Busschaerts.
Now that the racing season is now over we will start to prepare for the show season with the majority of the Judges now in place with most being top class fanciers on the South Road and included in the Judges are past MNFC, BBC, BICC & NFC winners, with most being household names in the sport, and our show programme is listed below.
