Down at the Cabbage patch a new season soon arrived and for this season we had 2 new members to join the ranks, Firstly Peter Glass and Del Johnson, who have been welcomed by all of the members and the membership of the Club now has 20 members with another two waiting to join.


The preparation for the season has been hard for everybody with the weather conditions changing from day to day and it had become nearly impossible to train or exercise because of this.


Race 1 soon arrived which was to be flown from Lyndhurst on the 7th of April but because of the weather Conditions the Race was cancelled as well as the 2nd race of the season on
the 14th April.


Race 3 arrived which was on the 21st of April which was flown from Blandford. The club sent 316 Birds with nearly 3500 going in the Inter Counties Fed. Taking the top spot is Club Secretary Steve Sheffield, also taking 27th fed with a Blue Taveirne Rigole Cock bred from stock obtained from Dave Ramsay of Hazlemere near High Wycombe. Taking 2nd and 3rd is Steve Holloway with a Blue Chequer Louella Van Reet and a Chequer Lambrecht bred by Steve Sheffield. In 4th and 5th spot we have Steve Sheffield with a Black pied Kenyan Cock, and a Blue Pied Busschaert Cock. Finally in 6th place is Jim Courtney with one from his Busschaert family.

Race 4 was also cancelled once again due to the weather conditions being bad during the week and the race programme being changed due to all of the cancellations.

Race 5 was flown from Blandford And this week in the club 12 members sent 252 birds and over 4000 birds went in the fed. The birds were liberated at 7.30am in a North wind. Taking 1st and 2nd also 11th and 13th Fed is Geoff Barker with a Blue Chequer Braspenning X Lambrecht Widowhood Cock and a Blue Pied Lambrecht Cock previous winner of
2nd Club Carentan, 2nd Club17th Int Count Fed 2546 birds Honiton. 3rd Club, 11th UBI Combine Poitiers, 1st Club, 23rd Int Count Fed 3,360 birds Blandford, and 4th Club Le Mans.
3rd Club is Steve Sheffield with a Chequer Rigole Cock bred from stock obtained from Dave Ramsay of Hazlemere near High Wycombe . 4th place is Steve Holloway with a Chequer Lambrecht Cock bred by Steve Sheffield who was 3rd Club the Blandford before. Fifth spot is Geoff Barker with a Grizzle Lambrecht cock. Finally 6th place is Steve Sheffield with a Blue Pied Busschaert Cock who took 5th club Blandford previously.

Race 6 was from Honiton and 15 members sent 246 birds with 3232 birds going in the Inter Counties Fed which were liberated at 6.45am with No wind at lib site.
In pole position this week is Steve Sheffield with a Chequer Pied Van Lint Cock, the Sire from ex Clubmate Brian Allen who has now moved to Harlow,
The Dam Bred by Dave Ramsay of Hazlemere near High Wycombe a direct daughter of Dave’s old No.1 pair.
Runner up in second place is Steve Holloway with a Red Chequer Van Reet Cock. Third place went to club Chairman Paul Stone with a Blue Chequer Braspenning Cock.
Finally taking 4th, 5th and 6th is Geoff Barker with a Grizzle Lambrecht cock,
