Enfield Continental Flying Club

For our 3rd race of the season at the Cabbage Patch we were racing from Blandford, Marking for this race was quite eventful due to the weather as by the end of marking we were all completely soaked due to the bad rain  and were all glad to hit the clubhouse for a few pints.   At the end of marking 14 members had sent 229 birds.

Convoyer Harry Burgin had the birds up at 8.45am in a North Wind. Taking the winners spot this week, also 8th Inter Counties Fed with 2816 birds in the fed is Geoff Barker, the winner being a Red Chequer Widowhood Cock who has previously won 2nd Club Lyndhurst.   2nd Club, 11th Fed once again is Geoff Barker with a 3 year old Chequer Pied Widowhood Cock who has scored plenty of times whose positions include 1st Club, 1st Fed, 1st UBI Combine Falaise, 2nd Club Honiton, 3rd Club, 5th Fed, 7th UBI Combine Poitiers, & 2nd Club Blandford.  3rd Club, also taking 12th Fed   once again is Geoff Barker with a Blue Lambrecht Cock who is a past winner of 11th North Thames North Road Combine before he was turned South and has also won 1st Club Blandford, in total Geoff took 4 positions in the Fed. 4th Club this week goes to Steve Sheffield with a Blue Louella Lindelauf Cock who won 1st Club from Salisbury earlier in the season. 5th Club once again is Club Secretary Steve Sheffield with a Blue Hen who topped the Section in the BBC, who also scored highly in the Open result. On Saturday i received a phone call from Dave Housden from the Biggleswade Club to say that the UBI Combine had liberated at 9am in a East South East Wind so i then text all of our members to let them know. At 5pm we had our strike and taking 1st Club this week is Peter Twyford with a Mealy Pied Busschaert Widowhood Cock who is clocking up his first win, after winning several lower placed cards. 2nd Club goes to Geoff Barker with a Chequer Pied Lambrecht Cock, this Cock i reckon must be one of the best pigeons to fly in this Club for quite a while. On Sunday i received the Call to say that the birds had been liberated at 9am in a Light West Wind.
