‘Fancy a Flutter’
Many people we all know love to have a bet on the horses, football or the dogs. That said next to none of them actually own a horse, greyhound or football club. Quite simply they get a lot of pleasure and a buzz out of having a little gamble or flutter.
With this in mind Peter Humphries who is a whizz on the computers has devised a way where people who have an interest in pigeons can enter a bird or birds into the MNFC’s ‘One Loft Race’ whether they themselves own any birds or not. How is that going to work? I can almost hear puzzled readers thinking. Well it is very simple we have a few ‘donors’ who are willing to bred pigeons to ‘rent out’ to interested none fanciers so that these people can get all of the excitement just like they actually own the bird which in truth they really do because all of the prize money and pools that they may place on their ‘adopted’ bird and it win’s goes straight into their bank account. At the end of the race season when the bird has completed the race programme and is sold the money raised in the auction sale is shared with them, the club and the donor of the bird.
So thanks to the wonders of the internet whether you live in Basingstoke or Bombay it doesn’t matter because if you ‘fancy a flutter’ just go on the MNFC’s website and you can ‘sign up’ and join in the race series and as the year goes by follow the birds progress and it’s ‘form’ on either Facebook or the Club’s website. In my opinion the club once again could be onto a real winner.
