The MNFC Present New for 2014 ‘2 Bird Nominated Races’

You may already be aware if you visited our stand at Blackpool or read the MNFC A.G.M. article that the Club’s Committee have made the bold decision to hold ‘2 Bird Nominated races’ in all of the 2014 Race Calendar.

How is it going to work? Well these races will be organised within in the framework of the club’s main races. Which means that all birds that are Nominated must also be entered in the full race.

The entry fee for the ‘2 Bird Nominated races’ is to be £10 which with good support from the members will offer excellent prize money. This along with the prize money for the full race will surely make the total paid out the envy of all other Classic clubs and once again confirm the MNFC as the pace setters in U.K. pigeon racing.

There will be good prize money for the top 4 Open placed birds taken from the entrance money generated. While the remaining prize money going pro-rata to the sections. This is similar to the formula that we already use to share out the full race prize money.

The ‘2 bird Nominated race’ will enjoy an entirely separate result. In this way it is hoped that the new races will achieve their own identity and it is widely anticipated that it will grow in popularity over the years. This could if the support is there generate its own pooling system but this is all in the future. For now there will be a trophy for the winners and diplomas for the top 5 section places.

This new and exciting venture will offer MNFC members the opportunity to enter in a series of races that should both stimulate interest and give the chance to race on a totally ‘level playing field’ with the skill of the member’s individual selection being the deciding factor which will show just where the best nominated birds are to be found. Surely this will show exactly who has the ‘cream of the crop’.

For years I have listened to small senders complain about competing against bigger teams which as well as ‘testing the pocket’ is often blamed for the shrinking pool money. Now is everyones chance to ‘put their money where their mouth is’. These races could be the way that some of our larger senders prove that they also have superior pigeons. If this is the case then surely all members will recognise this fact and earn the winners their just credit.

So once again the Midlands National Flying Club is leading the way and proving why so many new fanciers are wishing to join our ranks. Though it is early days it certainly looks as if the club’s membership will have grown for the third year in succession. Which leads me to ask can any other similar club make such a claim?

So for now just keep preparing your pigeons and thinking, yes I want to win a ‘2 Bird Nominated Race’!
