Cullybackey Open Show 2023 - Cullybackey HPS held their annual 3 in 1 Open Show on Saturday the 16th of December, with a great turn out of birds and fanciers. In total 17 fanciers penned a total of 245 birds. Thank you to everyone who turned up and made the show as big as it was. I would like to send a massive thank you to Frazers Animal Feeds (Banbridge) who sponsored the prizes for all the card winners this year again, I would also like to thank the members who brought raffle prizes and contributed to the show in any way, either on Saturday or throughout the 7 weekly shows we held. I would also like to thank the judging team of Norman Lewis, Claire Kelly, Noel Higginson, Eddie McCaw, Robert Wilson and Davy Strain from East Antrim for coming along and doing a fantastic job for us, their task was not an easy one with so many quality birds on show. Our next job was to present the club show series Sheilds. Club show winners J & J Greer. Visitors Show winners A Barkley & Son (Kells & District). I would like to once again thank everyone for their support this year and hope to do the same next year, but for now happy Christmas and a happy new year and good luck for the 2024 racing season. Charlotte Fee (10) presenting a cheque for £1000 to Keith Pyper of Autism NI being part of the proceeds of the sale of birds by her grandfather Allan McDonald. Allan takes this opportunity to thank all the fanciers who purchased birds and wish them a very successful 2024.
The final club show for Cullybackey was Eyesign classes for Old Birds and Young Birds held on Saturday 9th December, 122 birds were penned. Marc Neilly from Broughshane won the Red Card in Old Birds and Brian Herbison for the home club dominated the Young Bird class with five cards including 1st and Best in Show. The judges travelled in from Broughshane Alistair Purvis and Colin Kennedy.

Kells Open Show on Boxing Day -
Kells and District held they're open show returning this year on the usual date of Boxing Day. Tuesday 26th December 2023. Our open show was 3 in 1 old and young. What a great turn out of fanciers and pigeons and a great show was held. 15 fanciers showed with a great amount of 276 pigeons penned. Thank you to every single person that turned up to support the show and making it such a success this year.
A massive shout out goes to Frazer Feeds for supporting the show another year with supplying prizes for card winners in every class. Your support is greatly appreciated as always. Thank you also must go to everyone who supplied raffle prizes for the show to support the club and supported in anyway, your support doesn't go a miss. We would like to give a big thank you this year to Award Board Rosettes - Ballymena, for supplying us top class rosettes for the show. This year our judges, we are pleased and honoured to say that we managed to get some of the top men taking top NIPA honour's regularly to come along and judge for us. A prestigious quartet of Davy Calvin, Philip Calvin, Stevie Eglinton and Bob Buckley from the Portadown area. The men were keen to get judging and they done a brilliant job. Judging 276 pigeons was a task and they done it very well and efficiently. Many thanks to the judges it was greatly appreciated for taking time out of your holidays to come and judge such a big show for us in Kells. The results are as follows -

The final awards presented was for our club show winners. Our club shows this year were very successful. The shows were very well supported every week by fanciers. We would like to thank everyone who came week in week out to support the club shows. The support is greatly appreciated.
