JOURNEY’S END - N.I.P.A NOTES – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G

 After a successful first trip to Dale, another spin across the channel was followed the week after. Along with the second Dale Race the 3rd Fermoy Race was held also the 5 Bird Championship being flown with the Fermoy Race. As always the birds where being Race marked in Clubs on the Thursday night to make the trip across the Irish Sea to Dale in Wales for a Liberation on the Saturday morning. A total of 494 Members sent 6,850 Birds to Dale in Wales for the second channel race of the N.I.P.A. Old Bird Season. The Birds were liberated at 8:15AM in a North West Wind at the liberation point with very good conditions.

The Winning Bird from the second Old Bird Channel Race belongs to G. Buckley & Son of Annaghmore H.P.S in Section E.  

 Many Congratulations to G. Buckley & Son on claiming 1st & 2nd N.I.P.A. Open from the second Old Bird Channel Race of the Season.

 Also, Many Congratulations to 3rd Open R. Buckley of Annaghmore H.P.S. in Section E.

That’s the 2 Dale Races flown very well. With focus now turning to further down the coast in Bude, North Cornwall in England.

SECTION C REPORT

The Winner of Section C (88/1,185) from Dale 2 was Mr & Mrs B. McNeilly of Doagh & District H.P.S. It was a super result for the Husband & Wife partnership take pole position in their club (171 Birds) while taking home the prestige of 1st Section C (1,185 Birds) and a great finish overall in the Open placing 22nd Open N.I.P.A. (6,850) The Section C Winning pigeon for the McNeilly’s is a 2 year old widowhood cock and is a Leo Van Rijn crossed with Luc Geerkinx. This bird has a 1st Club Fermoy this year and a 2nd Club Kilbeggan just beaten by a loft mate.

After a hard testing week previous there was to be no let up for this race as the weather conditions were similar only this time possibly a stronger wind mainly west nor west.

Liberation site to be fair was perfect and the shout was given for an 8.15 am liberation!

Making tidy work of it and taking 1st place in the Amal are the Ballyclare based partnership of G&R Lawrie. The lads returning the winner at a very impressive velocity of 1183.7

This week's winner is a 2 year old mealy cock. He Is a roundabout cock paired up at start of week. He is a van bulk Stefan Lambrecht Cross. We purchased his parents from good friend Wayne Doonan of Cockcrow Lofts. The dam is a daughter of Macarthur who at Cockcrow has bred one open winner and is gsire to 5 open winners. This is our 4th win of the season with all the winners bred from Cockcrow stock crossed with Danny Dixons birds and also a hen from A& N Lewis. He finished 3rd section yesterday.

The Winner of Section D (48/635) from Dale 2 was J. Gregory & Sons of Colin H.P.S. The super racing partnership have won now both Channel races from Dale in Colin H.P.S. (103 Birds) The Gregory lads have won another Section after finishing 1st & 3rd Section D from the first Dale (635 Birds) and also finishing 56th from Dale 2 (6,850 Birds) The Section Winner from Dale 2 is a 2 Year Old roundabout Cock who has a few prizes to his name, and has always been a steady racer. He is bred from a son of their N.I.P.A. Skibbereen YB National Winner when paired to one of their retired race hens who has a number of top 30NIPA Open Positions.
