Due to the adverse weather conditions forecast for most of Britain last weekend no racing took place. The federation race committee wisely cancelling in favour of the birds. So, onto this week 5th May, pigeons were at rearranged race point Chelmsford 140 + miles where 11 members sent 358 birds, liberated at 7.30 into a southerly wind, conditions sunny and hot.
Taking 1st. club and 10th. federation vel. 1716 came Vanessa Colby with a yearling chequer cock making it's first visit to the winner's enclosure, being a bird obtained through Billy Whizz Gibson who everyone knows only finds the best but with no further details.

In runner up spot taking 2nd. club and 18th. fed. vel. 1698 Barry Shaw with a 2yo blue cock a self-bred Maurice Mattheuws. 3rd. and 4th. club vel's. 1676 and 1675 with two yearlings, breeding going back to the late Paul Gorogs pigeons.
Onto weekend 12th May pigeons again at Chelmsford were birds were liberated at 7.15 wind given as light south westerly taking 1st. club vel. 1518 and just pipped for top honours in the fed taking 2nd position came Barry Milburn with a yearling blue hen which won as a young bird from Huntingdon, being the result of cross breeding from two good friends namely Alan Jones X Nev Brewer. 2nd. club vel. 1496 were the top partnership of Horne and Plews their timer being a Vandenabeele from Tony Holker already taken cards from the channel.
